I have installed successfully the stage 3 kit on my 2004 Derbi Atlantis Red Bullet today.
I did a road test and beside riding a Ferrari (witch by the way 0-40mph is as fast...) I don't think I could of drowned more looks and attention. The kit was easy to assemble and everything fitted just right....except when I got to the pipe. The first part off the pipe as its expanding in diameter is in conflict with the cooling fan housing. So I had to remove the from 6 o'clock to 9 o'clock, basically 90 degree of plastic.

Now my questions:

1- By removing part of the housing, have I reduced the efficiency off cooling by allowing air to be evacuated trough the modified housing ?

2- What sparkplug should I use?

3- What fuel/oil mixture ratio do I run the stage 3 (30:1, 40:1, 50:1) ?

4- What ground speed should I be expecting once the motor is broken In ?

5- Is it possible to get more fuel jet for the dellorto carb between 90 and 105 ?

Congrats, and welcome to the boards. I wish I could answer your questions, but you're the only user I know of this board who has staged out to three on a Derbi. Despite that Provoscooter sells the Derbi line, we don't have too many members on the forums with them. Our forum techs, jered and lennox should chime in here soon, but if they don't feel free to drop Erich a line. I have no time with the Derbi.

1. the housing is there for a reason.... you should probably use it

2. not sure what your stock plug was? post this and I can tell you

3. 40:1 works great for oil

4. speed, I have no clue...... I am guessing FAST!

5. Jets come in sizes by 2.5.....90, 92.5,95,97.5

you normally run 1 cooler plug than the stock as your raising the compression...

Also the jets are readily available, just to a goole search for "makuni main jet" and they should be plentiful...

Congrats of being a stage 3 member... However I have no idea what a derby scooter is... I guess after work I should look that up!

Also the cooling duct... If there is a way to keep it stock and work around it... I would.... just to be on the safe side... Or try to compensate for the area you need to remove by adding more of a duct on the other parts of the housing... So it pulls more air from somewhere else...

keep us informed....

Remstar does your bike have the piaggio motor or the derbi motor. if it has the piaggio motor then it should be kinda fast. i dont really know what parts come with a stage 3. if that bike has the piaggio motor and you want a rocket, go with a full race mhr or polini evo. piaggio full race bike are known for 90plus mph.
