I was wondering what my 2003 Atlantis would get as a trade-in on a new 125 Vino (MSRP $2600). My Atlantis has 1700 miles on it, derestricted, and has literally all new body panels ($1000). What should I expect for a trade value?

I'd guess 1000 tops. You'll get more money by selling the bike outside of a shop. Like ebay or through the newspaper than using it as a trade in. Plus, why would you not want to keep that Derbi and get a 4stroke 125? That Derbi is classic... :D

I saw a 2003 Deari Atlantis in the paper today. It said $2600 new asking $750. It also said 50cc and 55mph. Will a stock Atlantis do 55?

Dino beware...People in our state are not very nice to their Derbi's. I have seen some real beat up ones with stock pipes just clogged and dripping with oil. anyone that mods a Derbi from stock is saving it from a Certain Choking death. Piaggio was really trying to down tune these Motors for us Un- scooter-sophisticated American Yanks. As for the 55 mph..Has any member varified this?

A Vino's 125cc engine isn't that much more powerful than my stock Derbi's. I get 45 mph on a straight road and over 75 mpg.
I should be happy with what I already have.

It would be tuff going from a pretty quick stock 50cc Derbi to a 125 4 stroke anything. I would maybe consider a 125 for a second bike but, would never give up my zuma.

Why would that be tuff? (Just a newbie question - I've never ridden any bike other than my Derbi Atlantis)

florida derbi, I just got a derbi that had been sitting for a couple years. after soaking the carb and cyl it fired right up bogged allittle on top end but then ran awesome. it was still gaining speed when i ran outta road (1 1/2 blocks) speedo said 50+ mph is this normal?? doesnt look modded but from what i seen most say they r modding to get speeds like this. are the speedos accurate?? I'm in fla also. I may sell it or part this out. LMK i u are interested the body it somewhat cracked but seems to drive nice.

Atlantis speedos are magnetic and seem to be generous by 10 mph (have asked a LOT of owners).I'll PM you.
