Derbi Atlantis Spark Plug Guide

I requested some spark plug information weeks ago and while 30-some people read the post, no one offered information.

So, I did some research and came up with a list of spark plugs that can be used in a Derbi Atlantis 49cc engine. Hopefully, this will be of some help to someone in the future.

Those are plugs for the 2002 and newer Piaggio motor. The BR9ES has the longer threaded section. Because I have an older Derbi motor (BR9HS) ,I have to be carefull about any advice I give. I also have a Newer Piaggio motor...But I have only done so much with it on the bench.

The guide is a good cross reference. I use NGK, but would like to know the options I can buy.

ok...i'm having trouble understand this table...total n00b with spark plugs.

so is BR9ES the model/code for the sparkplug? is it a standard code for every manufacturer?

i need spark plugs but i dont know what fits my 05 derbi atlantis.

Having a bad plug chart download day..:angry: . NGK lists a Colder #9 plug for the stock 50cc Piaggio motor. (usually used on 70cc) It's the BR9ES (NGK stock# 5722 ) The Iridium Plug is BR9EIX (NGK #3981) Both Gaps are 0.024. The number code is NGK's. A person could spend all day online just looking at Plug info and cross reference charts.

...the BR9ES stock number is 5722, not 4522.

Ted You are right ..I had the box for the older plug in front of me. :o (1/2" threads BR9HS which is stock #4522.) See..I gotta be carefull...these two motors are quite different.My ES' are in the workshop. Thanks for catching that.
