The new Britt flick, Alfie debuts soon with a staring role, an old classic Vespa. Looks like the lead is a modern Mod, with his tailored suits, sorry guys, but plastic Jpn scooters just aren't chic enoguh for the real mods :p

They actually wanted Vespas but Piaggio gave them a hard time with tons of rules, so they switched to TNG at the last minute.

Yeah, thought you, jered and Lennox would like that, LOL. Now I bet Arnold would ride a HummV-scooter.

Second look, a better look revealed that he was not riding a Vespa, but a Lambretta. Notice the scooter was tu-tone. Looked like an LD though it could've been a GP. The first look I only side the top side of the leg shield and it looked like it was a solid dark blue, but later in another commercial it was a lighter blue with black tu-tone. Maybe there are several scooters.
SIDENOTE: Mark, it's not really a mod only read function, I just use it as such, the reason for the soft delete is so it can be undeleted at a later date after review. LOL.

Are you still talking about Alfie?
In interviews (http://www.handbag.com/gossip/celebrityinterviews/judealfie3/), Jude Law refers to it as a Vespa.
'I loved that Vespa - even though I couldn't get it to start sometimes,' he recalls. 'It was so much fun to ride. When we started filming they asked me, "Do you want a helmet?" and I said no. No way. That made it even more fun. I loved the clothes, too. I managed to keep a couple of outfits.'
The sfgate.com (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/chronicle/a/2004/10/24/PKGIJ7PJ2N1.DTL) also talks about Piaggio's relationship with Paramount for the making of Alfie.

In one scene there was him on a Vespa, but in several others, it was clearly a Lambretta. Remember people use the term "Vespa" like "Cleanex" or "Xerox"

cleanex? kleenex?
Anybody catch the "Monster Nation" last night? they had a segment on scootin' - they covered a rally in cali. Lotsa vespa vespas and lambretta vespas, zuma vespas and vino vespas. ;)
It made me yearn for sunny days and warmer climates.

Just watched Alfie and all he rides is a vespa. The reason you might have thought it was a lammy is cuz of the paint job. Good movie non the less, makes me wanna go out and by a gucci suit for riding on my scoot. Gotta luv the mod style.
