The high beam

I noticed a couple of times I've been out for night time rides, that
when I hit the high beam (blue lamp comes on), the beam dips.

A few months back I took the lamp out to check the part number,
in reply to a post. Can the bulb be put in upside down by mistake?

Mystery solved. Some of the high beam light is directed right in
front of the scooter, in a feathered fan shape. I guess this is to
have at least some short range visibility when the low beam goes
off. Anyway, if the headlight is pointed too high, the low beam
acts like the high beam, and when the high beam turns on
you only see this fan shape pattern right in front of you. So
it looks like the functions are reversed, but you just need to
adjust the beam lower.
