Ok ladies, and children cover yer ears, because this is a man's thread here. The weak need not reply, cause we're talking about ego here. So if you got the snardz to talk and walk the course then this hard core scootering poll is for you, and not for the weak at heart. This thread is pure 100% testosterone. (Tough females may reply if they can handle the power :) )

So anyone installed a Stage IV race kit yet? What's your take on them? Would you be interested in buying and installing such a beast? Will installing such a beast slow you down becasue your manhood added about thirty more pounds of mean monstering ego to your scooter? Sound off on Strage IV.

The RACE stage (aka Stage IV) of performace includes the following depending on setup and tuning:
Included all the parts from stage three
Fully balanced race crank
Full race cylinder with 12mm diameter rod
21mm carb
Tecnigas RS or comparable alternative
Race ignition good for 25,000 rpm's
This scooter will probably break the earth's gravity

Concerns:
The motor is only good for about 20 hours
You have to replace the crank (about a five hour job)
With the race ignition you can no longer use lights
Great for racing, not so great for general street shinanigans

to start... I don't think that Erich has these parts for the 04 zuma...? Not 100% though...

He can order the parts though through Malossi... (email him if your interested)...

The big thing about it for me would be replacing the crankshaft all the time... 20 hours... heck I can do that it a month or less....

I think I'll stick with the street/race parts and not have to replace it as often.... So I guess I'm wimping out! :p

I have been wanting to do this since I bought my Zuma, but the parts I need/want have not been available. Soon enough I will do it....... here are some of my opinions.....

#1. The motor should/will last longer than 20hrs with proper tuning/carburation 24mm carb or bigger would be my choice.

#2. 5Hours to change crank..... maybe with hand tools.... with air tools, you could do the whole motor in less time than that...

#3. Race ignition..... you can still use headlights with the Mallossi CDI....

#4. The biggest problem I am worried about is the drive belt/transmission. Jered and I are having enough trouble with street 70cc with belt slip and heat. I can only imagine the problems unless the Malossi overrange kit is used...

#5. Brakes. These braking systems were not designed to stop high speeds consistantly, and should therefore be upgraded as well.....

I guess to some things up, unless you are like me and build 2 strokes with your eyes closed, then stay away from the "Race setup"

King is right that the reliability is drasticly cut and mechanics bills would add up fast......

The above data was from Erich's TUNING section. I was talking to Erich this weekend, and he said he was thinking of adding the Stage IV, so I'm not 100% whether he is stocking the kit or thinking about carrying the Stage IV hence why I decided to post the poll. What prompted all this was that the site listed a Stage III for the Derbi, but not for any of the other makes. The reply was that if you add all the options to the Stage II, you'd have a Stage III. any case he said the Stage IV is going to be pretty sweet. I'd like to see Stage III and Stage IV's for sale on the store simply for the fact that I have not seen anyone else selling them, and I like seeing the product line expanded which I think would pump board growth.

race stage thats odd a full race kit from malossi last a (Heck) alot longer then 20 hours. the only thing that really takes it down is a remover wtich over loads the cylinder walls and crank rod.

Erich hasn't given me the specs or anything o nthe race stage (S-4) kit yet. But he says it's going to be sweet. He hasn't decided if he's going to sell it yet either but below is what I'd expect to see,

Included all the parts from stage three plus
Fully balanced race crank
Full race cylinder with 12mm diameter rod
21mm carb
Tecnigas RS or comparable alternative
Race ignition good for 25,000 rpm's
