First of all I didn't know double posting was wrong (asked for help in two different forums! What a crime!).

Second, I posted in a dif forum asking if anyone had advice for my problem. I was hoping someone who doesn't read in the TNG forum would be able to help. I did nothing wrong.

Now instead of getting advice, Jered closed both threads! Hey, thanks a lot!

Instead of being so caustic you could have just informed me (new member here!) that I had broken the rules, maybe even advised me in a friendly manner.

Hi,

I have a small scooter that ran great until I ran out of gas. I've added fresh gas and checked that the fuel filter isn't clogged but it is barely running. It will run fairly well if the air intake filter is removed but I can't ride it like that. Gas is also coming out of the end of the carb for some reason which can't be normal. I replaced the plug and gapped it correctly but this didn't help at all.

Running out of fuel isnt good, it does weird things like that.

Try starting it with some starter fluid. Just spray a small amount straight into intake or filter and start it up. Should run at high revs then quite down, rev a bit to keep it going and see if that fixes the problem. (make sure to put the airbox back on right after starting!)

If you see a lot of fuel leaking out the carb, it could be a stuck float. In that case you would just drain the carb, take it off the manifold (dont disconnect any of the lines) take off the bowl and look to see if the float moves freely. I had mine pouring gas when the pin holding the float moved slighly off.

See what that does and give me and update. o_o

btw its normal for the carb to spit out a small amount of fuel, but you'll be able to tell if its not normal.

Hi,

I have checked the float and that is fine. Basically it will start right up and I can ride it but the air filter has to be off and fuel will leak out and drip on the tranny thing. Before I ran out of gas it ran very well.

If I put the air filter on it will die out. Its brand new and not dirty. I rode with this for 3 days before I ran out of gas. I just don't get what the issue is.

Just try spraying starter fluid for a quick spray, it should get things moving and get the fuel system back to where it was.

Ok, I sprayed a little in but it caused the rpm's go lower and nearly killed it.

First off, the TOS clearly is posted and you clicked "I agree" when you registered!

Then you run your mouth! Fine... enjoy the 3 day ban... when you get allowed to post again... I HIGHLY recommend you not RUN YORU MOUTH!
