My 50cc Vino turns over but won't start. Took it to the yamaha service tech Dave and he looked at it. Said the pipe was so gummed up with residue that it should be replaced. My Vino has only 2,000 miles on it and I am the second owner. We are thinking that the first owner was using incorrect oil. The new Yamaha pipe will be $238. installed. Should I have Dave retrofit with a Next-R pipe at this time or go back to the stock pipe? Could this be Dave's first Vino? Shop opened last month. Want to get back on the streets sooooon. JOE.

2 things.. you are more likely to get better performance and liek the scooter more with a aftermarket pipe...

However along with that, you'll need to change to rollers, possibly clutch springs to compensate for the pipe...

If you choose to go with the stock pipe... Find one on eBay... over $200 for a stock pipe... SCREW THAT!

You might try changine the spark plug before you get a pipe... if that pipe is that bad... I can only imagine how the plug looks!
