I bought a 2001 Predator LC about a month ago. Love the bike, and have a couple of questions about it. I bought it with 24km on it so it was practically brand new.

What type of fuel milage should I be expecting? Right now I'm getting about 60km per tank. Doesn't seem right.

On a long straight it will get up to about 80km - That speed seems to me that it has already been de-restricted. Would you agree?

If it hasn't been I guess that the pipe and variator would be the first thing to do.

I live in Vancouver and would like to get a big bore kit and pipe eventually. I know that Malossi has a listing for these parts - just wanted to know of any online stores that sell these parts.

If I change to a 70cc kit do I need to change the carb as well?

Probably the first of many posts - I'm used to 4stroke VW stuff, but this 2 stroke stuff sure is fun.

reviving this super old thread

I own a 2000 Derbi Predator LC 50cc (also live in Vancouver, BC, Canada)

I have installed the Malossi 70cc kit
it's SUPER fast now..at least in terms of acceleration:yippy:
top speed didn't change much as everything else is still stock

there's quite a few online store that sell and ship malossi parts to canada

also, it is not require to change your carb, but of course if you want to change to a bigger carb, bigger main jets, aftermarket exhaust, up-gear kit, etc you can probably get this predator doing 100km/hr easily.:race:

I have Predator LC in Cloverdale and am getting about 110 to the tank. My only mod is a de-restricted LeoVinci ZX exhaust (the new Arreche carb didn't work with the engine, I found), and with a good tune-up ($175 from Wolfe Mitsubishi) I can reach around 65-70 KPH uphill on HWY 10 and 80 something on the flat. The speedo is ridiculous- it reads 94 when it's actually doing 78... I find that the tune-ups are only good for 200-300 kms before the engine loses power on hills, or about a tank and a half if I run it straight out (Like my epic run to Tacoma in July...fun fun fun.) My top speed was originally 78 (measured by another perfectly tuned bike... my friend's Fireblade) but with the tune-up it goes about 10k faster for a short while. I suspect (from earlier mechanical advice) that the bike eats spark plugs like Jabba the Spanish Racing Hutt and that that causes the power loss. Does anyone else have this problem?

How do you mean eats plugs?...are they oil fouled?

i would only imagine l/c motors have much more different ports and much more power capabilites .cant wait to start on watercooled.

I hear the Aerox is a pretty good racing scooter. It has a LC Minarelli. I'm a huge fan of the Jogs. I think if I were going to do a LC project it would be on one of those. There is just something about a liquid cooled 2 stroke that I really like.

What kind of LC two strokes can we get ahold of here in the states would it be the Jog only?

Derbi had a few LC scooters that weren't Minarelli.

if you go on ebay UK you can find watercooled minerall engines i even found a aerox 100 engine seems tempting for the future...maybe ill save off on a 70cc watercooled and just get 100cc up to 125 with watercooled settigs...
