Where can I buy a Derbi GP1 50cc in Toronto?
and how much do they usually go for?

How much does Derbi Atlantis Bullet go for?
MSRP and all the extra taxes, freight, license and stuff?

I think the GP1 might be too expensive, so i'm looking at the Bullet.
Do you know how much it costs roughly?

they sell the atlantis city for $2699 and the bullet for $2899. for some reason the price is different...the vespa in calgary has them for the same price.
theres also the piaggio typhoon for $2799
ohh..and they just got the GP1s...i remember him saying its about 4600 or something like that...
however if you go downtown toronto to a place called Motoretta, they have both for $2749.
it should cost you total of about roughly 3200-3400ish

What's the main difference between the City and the Bullet?

If you surf Derbi..it seems some sites say there is a 17.5mm Dellorto on the bullet stock..other sites say 14mm..I see a two tone Red /Black seat on the Red Bullet..and I see a Nice Silver and Black seat on the silver Bullet.(see MarylandMarks garage!) the "City" has a different seat stitching with some different colors on the panels..(Metal Flake) including a grey floorboard/dash (instead of black) for a couple colors...I never saw the second pic close till tonight ..and I LOVE it..it's like a silver floor..

What should I be asking the sales person? What points should I be focusing on?

After 2 weeks of surfing sites, I finally decided that the derbi bullet was the one for me. This site played a big part in the selection process...Thanks!
I bought a brand new '03, silver/green, 50cc and just lovin' it. Best part is, here in Connecticut, you don't need to register mopeds.
I bought it from a co-worker of mine who is just starting out as a derbi dealer in our area so he really gave me a good price. $2300 out the door. He even installed a plug for a charger at no cost. He explained to me the difference between chinese made engines vs italian and spain made. Derbi rocks!
Any advice or tips you guys have for a newbie will be much appreciated.

You will be very happy with that Piaggio motor...lottsa performance parts available...and Rydah finally came out and said what I knew...the pulleys are HUGE on this motor...rear one is almost top to bottom of case.(see pic..ignore the rusty pulley's!)....it's like an overdrive pulley. You got the "Silver Bullet"...look at MarylandMarks garage for some inspiration...he's got some nice Metra-Kit and Koso parts...Check his GPS reading.

I forget what the bullet and atlantis differences were.. My carb was 17.5; not sure if the atlantis had the 14 or not..
I picked the bullet because my green/grey color looked better than the black/yellow bullet or solid grey atlanits my dealer had on the floor.
My scoot ROLLS OUT but if I knew then what I know now I would have went with a GP1 (H20 cooled!) and done the same exact thing to it that I did this one..

lol, thats what most people dont understand. those giant pulleys is why typhoons and bikes with piaggio engines can do 55mph stock and most minarelli engine bikes (not bugeye) can only do 45mph to 50mph stock.

mm...i really liked what you did with your ride (it looks sweet without the rear flaps). Mine only does 40 mph max, I'd like to do about 50-55. The "washer" has been removed but the exhaust is still the original. The guy told me to come back and he will remove the small piece on the muffler to make it faster. But I noticed yours have an entirely new exhaust. If you don't mind me asking, how much did that cost? and how much mph increase did it have? Any advice you can give to make it run 50-55mph? Thanks!

unless the pulley has a smaller diameter when its completely closed, its overall diamter has nothing to do with top speed.

I'm pretty sure that the Piaggio rear pully sits down on the primary clutch shaft more than the Minarelli's.

I just went to a Derbi Seller this weekend. I'm really tempted to get the Bullet. I'm thinking maybe next year @ the beginning of spring will be a good time to get one. Winters in Toronto are not good for Bikes.

Buying a bike in fall and winter usually is cheaper as they are the bikes that didnt sell during the previous spring and summer so dealers will take most resonable offers.

We have been hearing about 2003/2004 Derbi's still around new in shops..(Both USA and Canada) Because people think they can pay $800 for a Brand new Big Wang quangJang whatever Chinese thing. If People think Derbi scooters are expensive...try pricing Vespas.

Do these pulleys fit on a zuma? (05) Or does anyone make biggre ones to fit? That would be too simple huh?

unless u have access to a scooter junk yard, finding ones that fit correctly and in good shape is about as eay as finding a aerox 100 rear wheel for cheap.

a lil while back i picked up a set of aeox 100cc rims from england for about 150bucks with shipping, you just have to know where too look.

its not just where to look, its if they are available. I have called like 10 breakers in the UK and no one had any. Ohh well. The front wheel is all i really needed anyhow.
