So I read the thread about a new jet.

" new vino try this"
"After messing with 4 differnt jets, we found the best was a 72.5!"

I went to my local yamaha shop and they had one jet. Size 90.
they are trying to locate more but only in sized in 5's.....70,75,80,85... etc.
I am intrested in more info about Re-jetting.
The guy at the shop was pretty dumb. Are jets interchangable in most carbs? Should I just try to buy a different type?
He had some for dirt bikes???????
I should be putting my carb back on next week and want to get it tuned right.
I ride around 1200 ft elevation on mostly level ground with some good hills. weight 165.

I love this *****. My scooter is gonna kick ars!!!!!!

I went through the same thing last year when I had to upjet after deresitricting. Matt had no idea what the hell to order. He ordered the wrong jet. I'd still be waiting if not for Vinnie reno.

I hear ya man!

I had the exact same thing happen to me at shops all over Portland!
NOBODY SEEMED TO KNOW ANYTHING! Scooter or Yamaha shops did'nt know diddly-squat!!! Could'nt believe it!
I finally just called a Honda shop. I took my jet to Honda and
LO-AND-BEHOLD! The parts guy new exactly what I wanted!
They were out of them, so he opened his catalog, double checked the picture, and punched something into his computer.
BOOM! they were there the next day! no shipping or anything!
Mine were $3 each at Honda.
If you still have a hard time finding them locally, look on the net. They are all over the place for between $2 and $5.

If you are jetting a Mikuni: When ordering, look for "round slotted heads". Some places show them as part 100/604 round slotted.

I'm thinking at your elevation your jetting may be 1 or 2 sizes different than mine. I'm at a 50 to 100 feet elevation with a size 72.5.

I reccomend you buy 3 different sizes and experiment to see which one gives you the most pull at 1/2 to full throttle.
I could easily have gone with a 70, but the 72.5 kept excelerating through steep hills without topping out. It simply wanted to keep excellerating.

Good luck. More questions? PM me (click on my name and select Personal Message)

Really, my yamaha guys got me 3 bigger jet sizes in only 3 days. Great bunch of guys, and the mechs do stage 1 kits all the time. They actually know how scooters work.
