i am having cable problems.

i am installing the stage 2 after market carb on my vento zip r3i
and i have the carb throtel cable working properly but the throtel will not twist to make the slibe go to wide open throtel .

it is adjusted were i turn the throtel just slightly and the slide moves but it will not go all the way up


has anyone had this problem am i going to need a new throtel lever?

Check Your Wire for Bent Wire

the cable is lihe new no bends ect.

it is like the throtel will not twist far enough.

Something Must Have Bent Or Broken inside the Trottle!!

I'm going to remove the throtel lever and see

Check!! something might just have Fell in to the Slide inside the Trottle if possible take a Picture!!!

Check Again that could be the Only Thing if the Wire is not hooked up The Trottle should have Twisted all the Way!! :eek:

Theres have to be Some thing Blocking it from Turning!! you might have to Completely Take Apart the Trottle!!

There is nothing in the slide. the throtel will not twist far enough even with cable compleetly off the carb. It twists the same amount with the carb disconected from the cable. :eek:

you sure the throttle cable is the right length?
i know mine wasnt when i switched to the 19mm carb.
it was between a half inch and inch too long.

That's what I'm saying... my guess is that your cable is to long and needs to be shortened...

2 ways of doing this...

1 measure the amount you need to have removed and go visit a bicycle shop... they can crimp an end onto the cable... since the cable connection in the carb is small and you apparently have it already working in that end... I'd have them take the excess of the grip end...

2nd... Buy a shorter cable...

Which ever is easiest for you...

The zuma has 2 cables one pushes and the other pulls... Now the pull cable was a hair to long... I ended up screwing that cable up anyway and used the push cable... Right length and didn't screw that one up... Works like a charm... :rolleyes:

it is not to long i made a adjuster so i can use that cable.

it just wont twist far enough (the throttel lever)

if it starts to move when you move the handle...

Then it will twist all the way...

How much play is in the handle before it starts to move the carb needle?

I still say your cable is to long... However I could be wrong....? :eek:

it moves when i barly turn it

not all day yet... the sun comes up at 9am ish... and goes down around 6pm....

December 22nd we usually have about 3 hours of daylight!

I love this FREAKING PLACE!


However on the flip side... Good news... I get to leave in August 2005 instead of February 2006! :D I'm happy as hell-o!
