We picked up the new Vino 125 yesterday. My wife rode it home, 54 miles on quiet country roads and crowded tourist filled 4 lanes accompanied by me on my Ruckus. She loved the ride and the scoot. Has even suggested tying on some camping gear and going on a trip. This is her first scooter and she just got her motorcycle license. Her instructor told her she was the only student that said they would be glad to get back on a scooter after the class. :8wave: :ll

Lunch stop on the way home. Dang, closed! Notice the Christmas lights still hanging.

And now, she will begin to "accessorize". Already looking at seat covers and top cases. :yippy:

No, its the 49cc, 2004 that now has 17,500 miles on it. Amazing little scoot.
I've drooled on a couple of Big Rucki' but they're a bit pricey.

Dennis- Congrats to you & your wife on the new Vino 125.. She has the same helmet I do... I am sure she will love riding the Vino & love accessorizing it even more ;wink)

Ask her if she wants to to join the yahoo vino 125 girls club where she can chat about accessories & stuff
(http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/vino125girls/)

When I saw the photo of the "Roadkill Cafe" I thought you might live in Colorado since there is a Roadkill Cafe in Crestone CO, too (a stange old Hippie town where horses & dogs just walk down the middle of the unpaved streets ) located at the foot of one of our fourteeners)

FDR--I think most of us scooter girls are proabably older than you ;)

We want our independence, you know...no riding on the back of bikes like biker chics for us--we ride our own....::handleba

Don't know about eating dust, but the only vehicle used today was the Yamaha and not to run errands, but to insure that it is broken in properly according to manufacturers guidelines. It now has 90 miles on it and hopefully will have 190 on it tomorrow. :ll :yippy: :ll

Its a different ride from the Ruckus and takes some getting used to, but I believe it is going to be our primary scoot! :luvdoc:
I agree with my wife that scooters are a lot easier to deal with than motorcycles.

Sooznd,
Amen on the independence. My wife does not want to be on the back! And I'm happy about that.

FDR - No, the Ruckus is not tweaked but now that it will probably be getting a lot of rest, it is a definite possibility. Maybe a tweaked Vino is in my future also.

Whoa Dennis
Nice bike corral !
How do you manage 17k on the Ruckus with all those other vehicles in there, too??

Dennis

Yes, that's 96 Helix.

Scooter magic. Not really. First owner was desperately poor college student that used it as only transportation. I've had it a year and put 2,000 miles on it.

Oh--I was thinking you had put all the miles on it--but 2 k in a year ain't shabby.

the Helix looks like a fun ride.....when you scoot together--what will you ride?

Probably the Ruckus until enough miles are on the Vino, then the Helix. Or not. Maybe I can convince my wife that she needs more scoot and should move up to the Helix and I'll ride the Vino. Or, even better, perhaps a matching scooter!
The Helix has been ours for 3 years. It had 3500 miles on it when I bought it, used it to commute and pick up both kids from school (different schools, different times). Its used a lot for kid stuff. They love it.
