Ok People........ check out these aftermarket lights on that black Vino125 and please tell me where i can get me a set! The site is in Chinese but the pictures speak for themselves. Why would Yamaha put such ugly stock lights on the NorthAmerican version when its body was meant for these babies!

The site is from Hong Kong, but the lights you are referring to are the stock Japanese legits. Simon2001 sells them for the 125, but at this time, I know of no one in the states or Canada that sell the OEM lights.
It's kind of odd because some of the site's text is Chinese while the other is kanji, which is strictly Japanese. Elise said she'd translate the Chinese in the morning if she remembers. IO can have Kenichiro translate the Japanese text for me. (Elise can't read Japanese!)
The flush lights are OEM, Japanese lights, while the square break aways are N. American. Elise said that from she read of the Chinese text the round break aways are stock for Taiwan, Hong Kong, and other Chinese markets. She thinks the Kanji was cut and paste from the YMC, Japan web site, though she finds it very odd that they would use it since kanji is not used in Hong Kong, and most folks there would be quite insulted to see Japanese letters used for a product to appeal to Hong Kong.a rant coming on from her! Ugh, I regret even asking her!)

Those are sure are sweet lights.
I'm glad I got the ones Provo sells, but of boy are those tail lights nice(signals and brake).
I need to buy a new cover for my brake light. I would love to hear that one fits, but realize a 2001 Vino might be a little different than the new 125.
Anybody think I can find a cool replacment for mine?

Guess, Elise managed to post that pic after all. Five years in the US, and she still can't grasp the concept of starting sentence with a capitol letter! Ugh, I give up.
In order to get the clear lenses for both the front and rear, I had to order the OEM turn signals and brake light from Simon2001 from Osaka Nippon. They weren't cheap, but they are all OEM Yamaha parts. The bulbs for the signals are amber, and the brake light is red. I plan to upgrade all the bulbs to LEDs.
While most of the folks on here focused on hopping up the performance, I chose to keep stock for reliability and fuel efficiency while upgrading the aesthetics of the scooter.

I found this site which has the Japanese style lights for the Vino 125. Looks like they don't have the front signal lights, though.

Sorry about those links, they worked last night.:( Maybe they only worked because I was logged into my yahoo groups account. If you want to see different style lights on the Vino 125, I guess you'll have to log into the Yahoo group and go to the photos section. Take a look at the photos of Brattland's Vino, Ron's & TX Vino

Ya i still have the same problem locating these lights as isthatavespa. I checked out sooznd link to http://www.motorsportscooters.com/vino/vino125accessories.html but they only have the rear jpn turnsignals in clear white--- i'm look'n for the orange tinted verson. And i also checked out Simon2001's site (by the way- that site don't translate into English to well) but i haven't been able to find them there so KingVino if u have that exact link extention- help us out! I think these Japanese lighting styles are standard in Asia so does anybody know anyother online Taiwanese or Japanese sites that sell them?

You'll need to email them. There won't be an English page.

After 2 weeks of an exhaustive search for those Front Flashers Suntzu posted way back in late Oct2004 (Only came across the thread late last month) I was able to find an actual Yamaha Dealer in Hong Kong. Of course Yamaha HQ in the USA was of no help, unbelievably they don't have a listing of dealers worldwide. Ridiculous!!! Anyhoo, the authorized dealer is:
Man Lee Tat
Contact: Louis Mok
louis_mok@yamaha-mlt.com.hk
Louis’ english via email is very good and he was great to work with and responsive. The 2005 Vino125 Front Flasher (Taiwan part # 5YR-H3310-10) cost $46 USD plus $40 USD to ship via FedEx. It was the cheapest of all and it took just 2days to arrive.
I’m ordering this week from MotorSportScooters (www.motorsportscooters.com/vino/vino125accessories.html)
the Vino 125 Japanese style Rear Flashers (VINO125RTS) and the Vino 125 Japanese style Rear Taillight (VINO125RTL). I have a 2004 Vino so I am hoping that the Vino 125 Flashers and Rear Taillight will actually fit?? Fingers-crossed!!
I will post pix after install.
Also, FYI: the english site for Simon2001 is
http://www.simon2001.com/ENG_VINO/ENG_VINO.html
They don't carry Vino125 parts because the Vino125 isn't available in Japan.
Cheers!

Jered- I am as guilty as anyone here. I posted a link before I became a moderator because I knew Provo didn't carry the items they were looking for.
Erich told me a couple of weeks ago he no longer has a source for the Japanese blinkers for the Vino 50, so it doesn't look promising that he will get one for the 125.
I may have ordered one of the last sets from him.

I see in the past there were several links and such on them... just wanted to make sure that it was known to keep it within provo's tos...
