i put new tires on my vino yesterday, it was runnin fine, i took it for a spin then parked it in my driveway... tonight when i tried to start it it just made a whirring noise and didn't do anything, does that mean the battery is dead? or the starting gear isn't catching or something weird like that? (seems unlikeley as the bike hasn't moved and started fine yesterday) and if the battery is dead, how do i go about jumping it? i don't even know how to get to the battery... and is it possible to jump it from another vino? or a car? or...?

To start the scooters battery is located in the floor board... there should be 2 screws that allow you to get at the battery...

If it's spinning and not starting, it could be 2 things... either the battery is dead and you are just hearing it make noise... Been there and done that...

Or the starter is bad... <--- hope not as they are like $50.00 for a freaking starter!

Anyway, you can just from any vehicle or scooter, jump box or wall charger... Just remember that it is a tiny battery... If you jump off of a full size truck... Don't leave the cables on but for a second or to...

Don't want to fry your battery.... The other thing is... if the battery is dead... running the scooter will not charge the battery... You actually need to charge it...

Anyway... try charging the battery 1st... that's the easiest... Jumping will only allow you to start it but the battery probably won't charge from the scooter's charging system...

Does this make since or is it to scrambled?

okay thanks, i'll check that out, and also, if the battery is dead you can still kickstart it right? or not? i don't know cause i can't even try... when i was installing my stage one, taking off and on the kickstart lever caused me to break the bolt that holds it on, it still worked a little without the bolt, but i think the teeth got a little stripped, i just drove to home depot to get a new bolt, i stuck it in, and before it got tight enough to hold the lever in place, it broke too! frustrating as freakin hell....

yes you can still kick start without the battery... most people who have starter problems just give up with the starter and go with the kickstart only...

Your personal preference...

if your careful...

You can use a pair of vice grips.... Clamp it down and then kick with that... It'll work just like a kickstart lever....
