typical...

Got to love the BS stuff...

It does kinda make since as it appeared to be a 1 day auction... however why were there 2 listings... As well, why was one for "preapproved" bidders only?

Donno... Doesn't sound hopeful, but it'd be nice for it to work out...

EBay email service is all screwed up. I just received an email today from someone saying they had sent payment to me via paypal for an item listed. The email was addressed to someone else but sent to my address.
thing is I have never had any items for sale on EBay.
Wonder if Ebay's email service is being hacked into?:(

sounds like a good time to change your ebay password if you have one!

That's why I don't use e-Bay for anything. It's an orgy of scams.

I have had over 300 transactions... never had any problems with getting what I bought....

I've heard horror stories of buying motorcycles and then the person send a "picture" of the motorcycle...

Apparently saying they never said it was for an actual motorcycle... but it bid up to several thousand dollars....

However I don't know this is facts... Might be an urban legand....

I have recieved stuff that was crappy compaired to how it was advertised... but that's the extent of it...

I like Amazon Marketplace because all the sales transactions themselves are made through Amazon.

I love ebay!

So far I have had almost nothing but good luck...

Stroy time:

I won a pool table, pool balls, pool stick, pool supplies and so on using ebay. $3500 transaction I think it was.

Well they came to Maryland from Maine to set it up... It looked good but the lighting in the room was bad. The installers left as did I to go get some torchette lights from the store. I saw tons of imperfections then and called the installers. They were on the way back to Maine and said they would be coming back to this area the following week. I said ok but told them how pissed I was...

I kept calling and calling and then after a bit I disputed the charges with my credit card. After many hassles and about 4 months I got all the charges reversed- FREE pool table!

Other than that- I buy/sell on there all the time.

Now there's a trip down 95, I wouldn't want to make.

That Pay-pal email was fake I got one too. There is also a lot of false EBay emails out there too if it doesn't look right or you didn't bid on it, don't click on the link just open EBay in new window and check your account.

What happens is people fall for those fake ebay emails you receive in your inbox requesting that you update your personal information...the email contains an official looking hot link and directs you to the fake web site they setup to look like ebay and people simply type in their info on the fake site. The scum bags then run a fake auction using your account info with a "too good to be true price" with a short time frame, 3 day or 1 day auctions...They will list a hot mail type address in the script or do pre approved auctions which require you to send them an email to get approved. Its at that point that they will request cash ASAP usually in the form of western union money orders. its a "Nigerian scam". I have been an ebay member since '98, The environment has changed, its no longer a "community" its an "auction house"...you have to be an educated bidder, use the resources given to you like feedback, check previous auctions bid on, look who has giving feedback and for what type item. Be aware what the going rate is for an item you want and be willing to stop bidding of it goes too high. Watch for people "bidding you up"... Just like real auctions. I see people get taken like this all the time when I go to the Tow Auctions...

I think that this is about the extent of the needed info on this....

Unfortunately the auction was a fake... There are scams like this on a regular basis... however be an educated buyer...

Nothing more needed to be said. :D
