ok so my mechanic tells me something about "deleting the oil pump"
and premixing 3% oil in with the gas from now on.
but, i havnt seen anything like that posted here before...
went from 50cc to 70cc and stock carb to 19mm arreche carb.

so im wondering...
do i need to stop using the automatic oil pump/resevior and start premixing my gas?

we are having problems with the arreche carb anyway, the valve sticks just above the idle screw.
so i may just end up using a stock carb off a 65cc vento(?). im not sure what size the carb is, but it will probably work fine with everything.

hmmm.... I remember posting about this........

my opinion is to ditch the oil pump and run 2 1/2-3%. (more reliable)

basically it is a sure way to make sure you are getting oil with the added fuel requirement...

If you don't you might just toast your new cylinder as Lennox did with his 1st one!

the best way to say it is... the stock carb is 14mm... the smallest I've heard of on a 70cc kit (recommended) was a 17mm... The size on provo is 19mm... some say that is to small...

I don't recommend using the stock carb.... However I have heard of people placing LARGE jets in the stock carb and running it.... I personally wouldn't do this as you run the risk of toasting the cylinder for no reason....

If you are a money burner... but the cylinder... sit it on a shelf and then buy the carb when you get the cash... then install them at the same time...

However if you are changing the carb and cylinder you probably will run into a tranny tuning problem... you will need to change weights and springs...

So as erich sells them in the stage 1 and 2 kits.... is the best way to install them...

You might be okay with the stock carb and a larger jet.... but then again you could get burned and end up buying the cylinder for a second time....

The problem with Lennox's was that the oil pump apparently wasn't pumping as it should have been... hence he now premixes his oil into the tank....

I haven't done this yet, but I will be premixing after winter is over... As that is one of my winter projects... to disconnect the oil tank and install a reserve fuel tank.... Probably taking the whole trunk space... Just not sure yet...

I want to get 200 miles on a fill up... or so anyway... instead of around 100... so I need another tank to accomidate that... We'll see... :D

Never and I mean NEVER run a 70cc kit with the stock carb..... it is just plain foolish....

I am still unsure if my climate played a role in the toasting. I was using the Areche 19mm w/95 jet. usually a hot humid climate will make you run richer than cooler denser air. The added heat with extra friction produced may have been too much? I may never know for sure. This I do know... DO NOT USE THE STOCK CARB!!!

you could get away with it, but you at least need to drill a hole or two to releive some backpressure.

The ones erich sells do... Don't think the others do as I'm sure erich just adds them to be nice... but not sure... as I've only bought one 70cc kit...

Most kits do not come with a plug.

The air box would also need drilling;)
