Ok this is a smack down poll, where you get to decide which one smacks the most ass old skool. Only one can win, whord!

Even though I own a Bajaj and I love it, I voted for the stella because it has the old school speedo and it still has a two stroke, and the front of it looks more like the vintage vespa

Wow, the Bajaj is taking a beating!

I think people are still getting used to the idea of a four stroke! But you asked for the scooter that's the most old school, not the scooter that's the coolest. I still stand by my Bajaj.

I don't like the front end on the Bajaj, that drove me nuts, but other than that, I kinda liked mine while I had it. Wish I never sold it.

Yeah, that front end is a little odd. But the nice thing about it is that it comes off easily, so if you're willing to do some customization, you can eliminate that piece of plastic. I just haven't decided what I want to do with the front yet.

I never got around to removing it before I sold it but it was the plan. I had thoguht about putting on some turn signals from a Vespa Px. I made a profit off of selling it and I wanted that damn jet ski so bad. I hate to say this, but Elise was right! Sigh.

I think it would be cool to put some of those old cadillac tail lights on the rear and something like that on the front. The nice thing is that if I screw up too bad, I can fabricate some repairs on the steel body.

What will happen to the Stella in this 2006 two stroke EPA clampdown??

There is an extension that Genuine can apply for which will allow them to continue selling 2-strokes until 2008 or something. After that, they will have to upgrade to a cleaner 2-stroke engine that meets EPA regs or switch to a 4-stroke that meets EPA regs.

The law doesn't technically say no 2-strokes. It just has stiff limits that very few 2-strokes can meet.

Do you see catalytic converters in the future of the 2-stroke engine? I had read about a couple pipes a few years ago that had cats in them (no, not kitty cats, CATALYTIC CONVERTERS!)

The Stella already has a catalytic converter. The first performance mod that everyone does is to replace it with a different exhaust (preferably with an expansion chamber).

A few weeks ago, my buddy who has a Stella (I have a Chetak), came to visit and we rode around SF for a day on our scoots. The performance of our two seemed to be evenly matched. I think the Stella has more low end than the Chetak. I rode the stella and the front disc brake sure is a lot nicer than my brakes. Some hills I worked him and some hills he kicked my can. I wish I had a stella to ride around occasionally.

Hey Vespa Sprint,
I don't think either of these scooters are classics. But I think the pole is more for which vintage rooted scooter kicks the most a## in the old school way. I own a Chetak, I voted for the stella cause it certainly is more old school. I like the Chetak better than the stella because I think the Chetak is less old scholl and more of an evolution to more realistic goals. When I get a 2-stroke shifter I will buy a Vespa. If stellas were still available new with warranty at the sweet price it would be well worth it, but since you can only find them used now I think I would rather have the real thing and buy an old P-series vespa.
