I want to start by thanking everyone for keeping this forum running, it has been a tremendous help in tuning my scoot. I am becoming a scoot tuning addict.

I got the scooter running again today after the tranny melt-down. I noticed that at about 1/4 throttle it makes a gurgling/rattling noise that seems to come from the carb side. What carb adjustment should I make to richen this portion of the throttle?

Past 1/4 throttle it sounds fine.

Also could someone give a quick rundown of the carb adjustments, what they do, and relative positions.(i.e. needle, A/F, Idle) I would be nice to have all this info in one thread.

Thanks again for all the assistance.

Dan, check this out and read several times before you start to tune. http://www.provoscooter.com/vbull/article.php?a=68

Thanks Dino, that has alot of great information. I am going to do a proper plug check to get the carb dialed in.

What about starting positions for tuning. I have read different things like 1.5-2.5 turns out. What is a good starting place for the A/F and Idle screws?

Lots of threads say about 2 to 2 1/2. Making those fine adjustments gets pretty fustrating. I'm pretty far in, maybe only one turn out. I'm not really 100% tuned with my carb but, getting close. It takes time an patience. The moderator how to section in the blue bar above definately has some worth while reading material.
