Broke A Piston Ring! Argggg

Hey there guys, I recently ported out my exhaust port and I was trying to put the cylinder back on the piston, and I F**k*ng busted a piston ring! Is there a special way to compress those damn rings guys? Any tips would help out ALOT. Thanks again

There's a locator pin in the groove. The ends of the ring have to meet there. If they don't, you break the ring. No special tools are needed, just caution.

locator pin? no way, lol...u or anybody else wouldn't happen to have any pics of this would ya? that makes alot of sence DUH lol

Just look at the ring groove on the piston. You will see a little pin that matches up with the ring itself.
