These....

He has them on the way.

Weights... thats something I havent heard them called before, why is that?
They are billet aluminum, so they are actually very light. Yes, stock grips, but the rounded end gives you a very pleasant handle and more 'holding' area. The throttle end does not turn with the twist grip, so its a nice way to hold speed by using that grip with your hand at the end (well my hands are bigger so is not at the end!)

yeah they are commonly referred to as handlebar weights. They are supposed to reduce road buzz and so you dont tear up your grips when you lay the bike down.

Actually, regular streetbikes use them to counteract vibration at speed. You take a stock bar end off of a streetbike and you can certainly feel the weight of it. You can absolutely notice a difference without having the bar ends on a bike that came from the factory with them, or even putting the light aluminum ones on. They are on streetbikes for a purpose, but scooters don't need them due to the speeds the are capable of from the factory. Plus, they aren't exactly fine tuned machines. You wouldn't have the tires balanced on a scooter where as a streetbike you would certainly want to.

I found out what they were and you guys were right...how would you put them on...just cut off the tips of the grip and stick them in or would you have to take off the whole grip???

str8dum and zuma sterling...thanks for explaining the weight/bar-end/vibration thing...I've been meaning to try them..but have no vibration to dampen..LOL!!...I did have my older bro tear the end off the left grip..while leaning the scoot...so I want those to save the next set of grips...yea and they look good...

definitely do the bar ends, florida. I myself am going to do them if for no reason more than having a bit of protection for the ends when I go down from goofing off. I am going to use frame slider type bar ends that are used on streetbikes like frame sliders to protect fairings on motorcycles. They are made out of polypropolyne plastic and hold up to a a downing better and look more stealthy as they are black. cut the ends of your grips and throw them on. good stuff....

I used a Exacto knife to trim my grips, then a dremel tool to hollow out the throttle twist grip end. Took about 10 minutes, and I love them. I rode the wife's scoot for about 10 minures without them, and it felt like the grip area was too small since I had gotten used to them on mine.

oh yeah, you'll have to hollow out the stock barends to put them in. I have renthals for mine and they are already open to accept the sliders.

Just replaced my grips with some cumfy bmx type a few months ago. I finally threw my rear stalk directionals in the trash and replaced them with some small cat eye stalks that are about 1/3 the size.

I have the zx. The only problem I have is, there's a certain rpm range just short of wot that it dosn't like, sounds kinda ruff. I allways thought it was a carb tunning issue but, I read some literature that points toward that theory. You can find a better pipe than the leo for your bugeye, there's not a whole lot for my prebug.

I'm trying to figure out the best one...everyone has leo or tecnigas on here or most of them...just wondering if there is more options that are just as good or better....nothing major like a racing one....just anything??

I have the technigas r on my zuma, its kind of loud but in a good pingy type way. My wife has the Leo ZX on hers and it is much quieter. All around performance wise, I cant tell much of a difference. Both scooters are at stage 1 with the malossi multivar.

I've got the Malossi 70cc cast iron w/ malossi variator and 7g rollers right now...trying to keep my top speed in 50mph range and gain a little more everywhwere...any suggestions?? which pipe??
