Stella's not a make, but it's the right answer for me :)

I realize that Stella is not a make, but it is the only model Genuine makes, and people associate with the name Stella more than Genuine.

I wonder why Kawasaki doesn't make a scoot?

I just read a scooter world article on another forum dicussing how much of the market the china made bikes are taking from japan. Sure don't see that here. It's a slaughter!

Kawasaki doesn't make a scoot, but the dealer in my town/city sell a Brand of canadian Made scooters called E-Tons.

The dealer in my city of London,ON sells them as well. They are actually quite nice although I didn't know they are built in Canada. I thought they were just distributed in Canada under the E-Ton name.

My Yamaha dealer has been selling E-tons for at the past few years. Seems like a well made scooter.

Just one comment about the Chinese scooters taking over the market. I think we will see Chinese scoots taking over the "Used scooter for sale, parts only" market as well.

+1 for yamaha. I dont think the chinese scooters will be hogging the market too badly, most people I know who have owned them hated them and got rid of them within 2k miles after having lots of issues. Most of them now own more quality scooters.

I'm guessing most of the Chinese scooter purchases are impulse buys. One who takes everything into consideration, including resale, quickly realizes that the total cost of ownership for a quality established brand is always going to be less.
Problem is there are nice looking Chinese scoots that cost less new than a used Yamaha or Honda, etc.
Now if the Koreans exported cheap scoots to the US, it might be a different story.
Anyway, I paid $250 for my TN'G. I don't regret it for a moment, but will probably go Aprilia or Yamaha next time.

I've always ridden Hondas, but I've been looking to get a Yamaha. I like the looks of them and that some have fuel injection.

I like Honda motorcycles, particularly the upright twins from 1964-1976.
I do think that Yamaha has always had the premier two strokes, though. Not just the Minarelli licenced motors, but since back in the RD days, and their dirtbikes. Although Suzuki had some pretty cool bikes like the Samurai back in the '60's. Honda historically seems to have avoided two strokes like the plauge, and is pioneering the use of four strokes in motocross and outboard / PWC marine use.

I started with a Yamaha, then a Chinese, then 3 Hondas in a row, another Yamaha and another Chinese. The Chinese scooters are great for people that want to start scooting but don't want to fork out the big cash in case they hate it. Everyone I know that asks about it, I tell them to buy a $500 Chinese scoot. If they love the feeling, then go get a real quality scoot and sell the Chinese scoot.
