I just recently purchased a R4i and am looking to modify it as I am a larger guy. I would like to know where I could go for that and also I am looking for the matching trunk. Thanks a lot.

There are a few members who have modded they're 150cc 4strokes but it is kinda expensive and tougher to do. Hopefully Elliot will chime in because he seems to have done the most 4stroke mods. As for a trunk you can check eBay to see if someone has one there for ya. Good luck and welcome to the forums!

$998.89 So far! and that's Just with the HP Coil & HP CDI
and yeah it's very expensive like speedy_scooter said...
At least that much and still have not replaced the magneto Yet? it's a Must
go All the China Stock has to Be Removed.. ASAP!
Or it will Fail Sooner or later and you will be Stranded,
the electrical system wire set might have to Go if you have any Lights or other Blinker problems that makes. All the Lights Blink when you Switch on your blinkers,
Other Glitches are When breaks are Pressed the ALL Lights Dim real Low
have not found that problem yet? but the Regulator Or Magneto are Allready Defective becuze of the Folks who makes them.
And Remeber When you Upgrade the Cylinder or HPCoil or Muffler etc, etc, The factory CDI's tend to burn out when engines are upgraded

New question. While driving at night (only night) I notice my alarm indicator light is on. Is this the low oil warning?? but if it was wouldn't it be on during the day also?? I also cannot find where it says how much oil it takes. I want to change the oil. Should I go to full synthetic??

NO! No synthetic?? If you have not Broken it in Yet?
synthetic Will Cover your Hone and it will Not Break in the Rings..
The Alarm Only Comes on when the Engine is Off
What year is your Model.

I take you are saying that these are inherent problems with this 150cc 4 stroke design and likely found in any of the at least 4 different brands that offer the 150 (Vento, UM America, Diamo and TNG) Does Provo offer the needed upgrades?

Well the Other models may have different kind of problems but All you
can do is Replace All the Stock with Performance Stuff..
The oil Dip Stick is Suppose to be half way right in the Middle
Provo do got stuff for the Vento 50cc,70cc,etc,etc
You can Modify that stuff to work on the 150cc engine Such as the MultiVar Finned Variator Pulley will most likely not fit until you Modify it to fit.
The Finned Variator Pulley Which did not fit my Old 49cc Geely That i used to have which Died 8 Months later when the starter starting going in Reverse HehEHE, and the Kickstart Broke. but the Finned Variator Pulley I Modified it to Fit perfect with no Problems. But i don't know how that same one will Do on a 150cc ,The china one that's in mines now broke a few fins already, So im gonna have to Order one Soon from Provo..

Elliot, how did you go about modding the finned pulley? Did you just have to open up the splines to a larger diameter?

You can use a Drill Special Bit the Gold ones.
I Drilled it open just Bigger Bore so it would Go In. And it worked, there will still be some Threads left to groove right into place if you have none left after the Drilling Just put more torque on the Bolt... When you install it if it's tight it will remain still...

I bought it in Nov it had a ninty day warrenty and the engine was bad so they ( the dealer) said they would replace it I just got it back last week and already I think I hear problems. May just be parrinoid! MY QUESTION is this I want to get the MRP power pack for the GY6 motor It has Cy head carb pistons vari clutch exhaust pretty much everthing for about $680.00 I WANT to buy the 170cc head for $210.00 but will all of this just over power the bottom end of a chinese knock off motor and end up useless???? I want this thing to pull wheelies and rocket off the line but I would be happy if it just went fast and didn't break!
My scoot looks just like the scoot in my avatr except it is yellow with silver and black.

Just the Cylinder Alone will Not Run with that Stock carb and Stock Cylinder Comp will have to Match Cylinder for Full Performance.
it will run but won't have full Power there some other things you have to Get with that 61mm - 170cc + Muffler
As far as i know that Most of the MRP Vento mufflers work with 170cc and Beyond. i Seen as Much as 60mm 61mm 62mm 63mm Heck even a 64mm
Which Requires Chasses Boring ,Cutting the Cylinder Port to Fit the bigger mm.
I have one on Order i will Let you Know how it Go.
it should be here this Week sometime i will post pictures of what it looks like up Close and Personal.
The order is a MRP 62mm Cylinder And Head Kit
You better off Getting the Big Bore Kit it has 170cc, I here that These Kits are the Bomb...........
Now the V150 Best Did Not Come with the Cylinder Comp Head. that's the Only thing i Did not like about the Kit.
The V150BEST Only comes with the 58.5mm 155cc it only ran Good for 4 Weeks and Dropped off Because i Did not Know which way the Arrow was Suppose to Go, Which is very Important when it comes to MRP Cylinders.
I Lost at least 2-3 Horses as in Horsepower.

and I do look forward to hearing about how your new parts work. Have you heard of scootdawg.com ???? he is tricking out a UM matrix 150cc with all MRP parts ( has some kind of sponsorship ) and posting the results UM uses the GY6 motor so it should translate well for us.
Did you catch the picture of the VELOCE tomahawk someone posted it has the exact same body style as my scoot 9 the color is different ) but he has a CD player and four speakers installed LOOKS way trick.
Thanks for answering my questions! ONE LAST THING if I do replace the cly and carb etc will the bottom end of my GY6 motor hold up or do I need to look for a complete proformance engine? do you know of anyone who sells turn key proformance engines?

I may have ( lets just say I DID ) over filled the oil I am going to drain it, I am still in the break in period for this new engine, I have close to 300 miles on it, what type of oil should I use??? Should I replace or clean the spark plug ( could I have fouled it with too much oil ) and did your proformance plug make a difference They are like $13.00 dollars right ?

NGK 7544, CR7HIX
is what i have installed now But i don't think it was for a 150cc 155cc But for a 170cc
Yamaha has a GY6 Type engine but don't know how to get one.
10w/40w Is what the GY6 Uses i just use Regular Oil yours is new So Don't use Synthetic Oil until after Break in is Complete.
Keihin now has a CVK32mm Carb now which is available which might have more Power then the Keihin CVK30mm Carb.
performance plug make a difference ???
I did not Notice anything But a Fuel eater.
4 strokes Don't Seem to Damage as easy as 2 Strokes.
and yeah i talk to scootdawg.
Ok!! if you need any thing else Contact me by letter
Happy Memorial day to All Don't Scoot or Drive :D
