01 vino
I took the plug out and it appeared to be chocolate brown, maybe alittle dark though. It was also real wet (oil gas mix?). The read was after a 10-15 min warm up. cleaned plug. did the again. Wet both times.
What does this mean?

I have many questions but don't want to get to long.
One at a time.

Is the choke on or maybe partially on? Does the scooter run okay? Have you changed the needle at all?

It runs alright, but I have just run it one good time and started it a few others.
Have never rode for more than 5 minutes.

I never have changed the needle(in carb?).
Where's the choke?

I'm going out to play now..........

the choke is probably an auto choke... So there isn't much you can do with that... Being in oregon... the temps are what above 50 right now? It should be functioning okay...

I'd say that you need to turn the idle misture screw 1/8th turn at a time so the screw goes in!

If at 1/2 throttle it's wet... then you need to lower the needle.. This is done by opening the carb and raising the clip on the needle to the top position... If at WOT it's wet... you'd need a smaller jet...

The exact opposite if it's ever white! You'd need a bigger jet, raise the needle or screw the screw out...

well heres a pic of the carb
The red arrow I belive is the mixture screw
Ah ha its Missing Should explain wet plug.

The green screw I started to turn earlier tonight and it only messed with the idle(I read on a diffrent post that this would happen, Thanks Jered)
Any ideas on where to get this missing screw?
Should i check any thing else on the carb now while it is out of the scoot?

getting places
Nice

That screw looks like the one I have in already.
Are both screw the same or similar?

I don't know what which is missing realy. Just the lower one is gone.
Is this the mixture screw?
I would like your screw if you think it's worth it.

Thanks.

you might want to check your parts Manual and see what the name of the Part is.....

play I took my stock carb and removed the screw you had in red... here is a pic of the carb and the screw...

The screw is a phillips head tip and the threads run all the way from the face about 1/6th of an inch long... then there is a spring and a tip that sticks out...

here they are...

The part for the carb you need is number 11... however the carb you have isn't stock on a 2001 vino! here is a parts pic of the carb that is supposed to be on your 01 vino... Notice how the air/fuel screw is much closer to the large opening (the side that mounts to the air filter) the one you have is like my 2004 zuma carb... see pic on previous page...

makes me wonder what the heck happened to that scooter when it was stolen!

If the one you have is like the 04 zuma carb... see pic closely! Then you need the part number *** 4JP-14104-00-00 .AIR SCREW SET *** I didn't bother to look while I'm posting this to see if the 2 numbers are the same or not...

Youy guys are AWESOME!!!!!!

I've had a lot going since I took the carb out two nnights ago. You did all the work for me. I assume the person that derestricted and unvariated this scoot also replaced the carb.
Do you think this carb is better?

I know it looks closer to yours.
Weird Stuff.

I'm gonna call my local shop for the screw, Good Luck.

Thanks for the leg work to narrow down my search
