As I was lookin through the local classifieds a couple of days ago, I came across a brand new 2004 Aprilia Mojito custom 150. Called the guy, he said he wanted $4,000 for the scoot. Only has 50 miles on it, and he hasn't gone over 40mph. I guess it was an impulse buy that his friend made, the guy got home took it around the block, and discovered he wasn't comfortable on a bike so now his friends selling it for him. My question, does this sound like a good deal? Are Aprilia's reliable, and are they easily servicable. I tried doin some research, but few people own these scoots. Thanks, all advice is welcome!

Those are good scooters, but t he price is a bit high. I've often given thought to the Mojito Classic. Strangely enough as much as I love classic scooters, I really like the Aprilia product line. Especially that Scaebo 500 touring scooter, which I almost bought. I'd work that price down IMO, as I can get one new for that ball park figure, but they are certainly a neat looking scooter.

I agree with king vino. It sounds a little high considering a vespa ET4 retails at $4,000. It sounds like he's trying to cover for sales tax, registration, and set-up fees. Even though it's hardly been ridden, it's still a used scoot, and since most new vehicles lose value when you sign your name, they shouldn't expect someone else to pay for their mistake. Especially since they'll have to pay tax and registration on top of the sale price.

Well, took it for a test drive and wow.......this scooter is awsome! It just cruises man, effortlessly. I really can't describe it much better than that. It is sooooo much different than my vino. Shes solid and firm. I deffinately like the 4stroke engine, so clean and quiet. Once I get some time with the beauty I'll write up a full review of this Italian Stallion!

I have been looking at the Mojito 150 and it looks like the handlebars are as wide as those on a full size bike. Does it make much difference? Regardless, it is a sharp scooter. A little out of my price range though :o

The handle bars are a tad large aye, but thats what sets to scoot apart from all the rest. I'm not sure if they make a difference performance wise. But all I gotta say is that it's solid and stable even up at the mid 60ies.

I think they are great scooters, and Aprilia is a good builder. I like the looks to this scooter as well.

I believe the engine in the Mojito 150 is a Piaggio Leader (as in the ET4). Good solid engine with a fat torque curve. A plus of the Aprilia line is that there are typically more dealers around than some scoot brands because of the motorcycle line they sell.
Have fun...

Yup, thats what I heard to. Good engine, but kinda suprised cuz the two are rivals back in the mother-land. Another crazy thing I came across is this scooter online shop for aprilias that can hop-up these 4stroke motors! I was always told that 4strokers were damn nearly impossible to mod... and these dudes are bolting on 190cc kits and such!!! (gotta go place an order haha)

The reason no one hops up 4-bangers is cause no one makes parts for t hem in the N. American market.

At least we'er SLOWLY progressing over here on the other side of the lake. I bet they have a 190cc kits for the vino125 over in Japan huh. Interesting, this opens a whole new modding demintion for me! I'm excited!!!
