Suggestion: Scoot Classifieds/Sale Section

Just wondering if you had given much thought to a classifieds section. Given experience with other forums, it would have to be pretty specific and tightly ruled to prevent people using it to link to their classifieds/ebay auctions, etc, but it might be a nice place to buy/sell scoot stuff, or even organize possible group buys...

I myself think it's a bit too soon, and would rather see a larger user base, and allow time for the existing members to become a little more familiar with the new boards, and I do worry a little about having a thousand new dummy accounts created just for buy-sell-trade. In this sort of setting 90% of these dummy accounts are either created for spam, or to sell scooters. I'd like to see a solid community basis first then work on becoming scooter-trader.com, but in the end this would be Erich's decision. I think it's a good idea but not the right time. Again this is my opinion and not the boards.

I've said it once already, and have already forwarded my response to Erich. I serious do not think at this time with this small of a membership that it is such a good idea. The board should focus on establishing a solid membership base and getting the bugs in the new boards before adding more forums. The majority of such posts come from outside of the community, many are scams, and most people who register will never be active in the community again after make a spam post. Good idea bad timing, my suuggest is then to make a pol, and let the members decide.

Yup, I agree. As much as I would like to see a classified page, it is way to soon. Plus, imagine the work load for deleting all that spam :eek: !

Let the members decide?! The whole 30 of us haha. I mean, a classified section is great guys... but do we really need it yet? Is that a top priorety? There are so few of us right now to even make a classifieds section even worth doin. It'll be more work on our moderators than useful to us. For now, if we do wanna sell our scooters (heaven forbid :( ) we can simply use other sections apropriate to the scooter type. Well, thats my take anyway.
