 My scooter is driving me nuts...I have a little over 5,000 miles on it now and i THINK i just need a new carb..It stalls, spitters, acts like it isnt getting gas.. If i let it warm up for a min or two it will stall as well.. Anyway everything i can think of has been replaced under the seat now.. The carb has been adjusted every which way you can think of, even by the local scooter guy has done everything as well.
So, i need a new carb!!! He has left me hangin since he hasnt called me back about getting me one.. Where can i order one for my 150cc Phantom? Are they pretty easy to install or what.. I went to vento.com and $280 is pretty high IMO..

Carbs are so simple, there is no way you need another one. There is something wrong with the tuning. Is it cold where you live? Cold affects 2 strokes something crazy. Throws jetting completely off. DO you still have an electric choke? That also causes alot of problems when its cold out. I'd return your carb to its stock setting. What other mods have you done? If any, I'd pull em all and start all over with the stock configuration.

I have replaced the hose, all filters, plug, adjusted valves, and a new electric choke, you name it.. Even here in Atlanta it was warm today and still bogs down when taking off.. YOu have to keep giving it gas or it will shut off when taking off from a start... It idles pretty good but soon as you give it gas it wants to die..
I have adjusted the fuel/air screw but never really makes much of a difference..I idled it up a little more as well but always want to cut off when you accelerate.. You have to keep playin with the throttle so it wont die..I had the scooter guy look at the carb.. He cleaned it i think and took it apart some but still didnt help.. Ithink i just need another carb cause i cant think of anything else it could be.

Check All Rubber Connectors,Check the choke you might want to have one on order So you can Test 2 When the engine starts you will have High RPM's untill the Choke Lower Down and Then RPM Idl's Down

Check the Air filter Holes for Leaks, Sometimes when your Clogged it can Stall on you. the same all so go's for to much Air (Unstable)

Check the Fuel PetCock for Leaks Or Clogged Ports.

Make sure the adjusted valves Are a TAP Not Tight

but soon as you give it gas it wants to die.. Check Fuel PetCock

it can do that if it's not working Or Check the Vac Line from the Fuel PetCock to the Intake..
