Hi. I just installed the stage one set up, a wile it works great after starting it and riding. However, it begins to bog down after a few moments, or stops and starts. Any suggestions?

Hmmm, sounds to me like you havn't installed a larger main jet. Your engine is probably running a lil lean, hence the bogging. You can get bigger jets for your carb at any yamaha dealer, only took my dealer 3 days to get a size 72. I suggest buying the next three sizes above a 64. Their cheap as chips and will cost you like 5 bones for three.

Which rollers did you install? With 6gm rollers in mine it bogged down, but when I put in some Malossi 4.8gm rollers it works great, although I lost maybe 2-3MPH on the top end. 3.5gm made it rocket off the line, but took hours to get to top speed after about 20MPH...

It of course runs differently when hot or cold. Do your transmission tuning when the engine is warmed up. You will need some gloves when working with a hot variator ;)

so are you saying that the lighter weights make you zip faster?? I'm having the same problem as above. Bogs down. Stutters at start. takes forever to get up to 25.
waiting on my jet to come in. (taking forever)
it's really inconsistant though. sometimes i zip around, but sometimes won't pass 30.
i also noticed that when i go down hill and get the speed up, that will help boost and i will maintain that speed after the downhill.

The lighter weights will allow the engine to rev higher before the tranny kicks in... it will loose a hair off the top end but haul butt off the start...

the shuttering problem might be the variator did you make sure it was not loose when you put it togeather?

mine was loose and it shuttered at take off :(

lighter rollers made a big difference with mine takes off like a rocket :D

hey, i need to re-jet, but my dealer can only order the jets in packs of four, and so i'd have to be 12 jets if i want the next three sizes... is there anywhere online or anything i can order them individually? and also, what kind exactly should i be looking for? mikuni small round? i'm not totally sure... (it's for a 49cc vino)
