Hey kids, whats up, I got around to completing the upgrade of my air filter on my '05 zuma. It is a success! (sorry, first thing i did to my bike, so i'm stoked) I was able to hook up a K&N filter from a bike, to my scooter. Using the stock hose from my airbox, if anyone would like to know how I performed this I'll be more than happy to let you know. You can definitely hear the difference, it gives it a little more crisp sound, and you can hear the carburator a little more. At first I thought it kinda slowed my take off just a tad, but then I thought it was picking up a little faster when it got going. All I know is that I got up to 39 mph today on flat land, where as before I was getting 36 or 37 mph. It was definitely worth it. I'll have to find the correct size of K&N filter that I used, my friend had an extra one that he gave me yesterday so I just used that. Jered neener neener neener, I put on my K&N before you ahahah ;) jp with ya bro!

BTW, you need to watch your plug now... With changing the air filter to an "open style" you are allowing more air and will probably need to "REJET" to a larger main jet to allow for the additional air.... If not you could be running lean... Which could be explained by a "hi end" power boost...The 2-3mph more you felt... probably lean... better check before you toast the cylinder!

yea man, the air filter failed, i did rejet it, but today it took even longer to get up the speed and i didn't get my extra speed boost, theres too much air coming in and not enuf coming out, maybe when i upgrade my exhaust i'll try it again, i had to put the stock exhaust back on. bummer...i thought i was cool ;)

no worries... The 50cc engine is given enough air via the stock box, that there is no reason to go with a high flow... As you'd just need more fuel and then need to make the 50cc engine try to burn it...
Sorry it didn't work out for ya... I finally got mine turned correctly and am not going to install the K&N as if I do then it will need carb adjustments again...
