I ordered a K&N one, never picked it up yet... OH WELL....
just measure the intake hole and then get one that is that same size.... The diameter needs to be from the out side of the intake not the inside of the hole... Or it'll be tight as can be to get it on...

K&N air fliters are nice but unless you have a huge carb you have to modify them to fit and the get full of water and crap easy

why would I have to mod the filter to fit? It's the exact same opening as the carb outer diameter? Makes no since!
As well the air filter that comes stock can get water in it! As well as 99% of "performance" filters! So there is no justification to say that they are more likely to get wet...
As well... most performance filters are "oiled" or similar to allow for the high flow capability... With this being said...they are all easily "gunkable"....
So the K&N is just as good as the rest... Just a proven filter as apposed to a no name brand that no one has ever heard of...

huh thats cool i didn't know that would fit a stock carb. well the K&N dealer here dont sell the that small :( .
i still like the doppler because i ride in the rain it dose keep about 40% more rain out the the other open fliters i have tested. thats great that the K&N works good i will have to try it my self.

you also may need to clean or open up your airbox. i would recommend getting a malossi CDI for 64.50 and a SS racing coil 45.00
the cdi will help your motor run better with a 70 and give you higher rpm. and the coil get better combustion, and about 2 hp gain on 70cc kits
Where do you get these items at?

the CDI you can get form about any scooter performance store or web site that sell zuma parts, and the SS coil is on e-bay for 45 dollors and free shipping in the usa

thc70, just in case you haven't figured out your issue yet, a common problem with people losing top speed over time is the wearing of the belt, especially since you mentioned that you still have a stock belt.

I just got my K&N filter much like yourself jered, and in a few moments I'll be installing it into my scooter. I'm going to make sure and pour a little 2 stroke oil in the inside of the filter and move it around, and well as spray the outside with another oil. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

K&N filters are ment to be used with the K&N type filter oil... I don't think it would be a good idea to put 2-stroke oil on it... Doubt it will perform as it's supposed to... Either no air flow or no filtering...

hey jered, i installed the K&N filter, i put a little 2 stroke oil in it and rolled it around, it seems to work fine, my friend did that with his past 2 scooters, but I might consider buying filter cleaner and lube and using it. I dont want to spam up the boards, but I posted a thread....

When you guys install the filters, I am guessing that you install them straight onto the carb, am I correct?
When I installed my filter the scooter barely moved, it was running really lean, it felt teh same way as a scooter with no air box.
Can something be wrong?
Thanks.

You will need to change the main jet or it will run lean and burn up the top end.
