I am unable to find a Yamaha Scooter Dealer here on Oahu, Hawaii. They have Yamaha watercraft stores but according to the "Find a dealer" thing on Yamahas website they dont have a scooter dealer here on island. I see R1s and R6s everywhere though, but I hear they only bring in crotch rockets. :(
They do have a moped place that sells "Abruzzis" when I went down to go see them they LOOKED like Vinos but I couldnt find one Yamaha logo or etch on ANY of the parts. So I am thinking its a Yamaha Copy.
Looks EXACTLY the same as the Japan pics right down to the turn signals. But quality is a big concern for me. Even at $1,300 I am concerned about price.

Any idea on how I would get a Yamaha Vino in Honolulu, Hawaii? I wish to use it as a moving/parked promotion/advertizement for my new Vino Scoot Cafe and reliablity is a big issue for me.
Thanks

I don't know anything about that company- just one that I found doing a quick search.
Looks to be costly ($600-$700) might be better buying the knock off and if it breaks buying another one...

Can you find out from mopedsdirect what the specs are on the Abruzzi?
It might also have the minarelli engine same as the Yamaha Vino.
They are claiming 100 mpg, perhaps it is a 4 stroke engine like the new Japanese Vinos & not a 2 stroke engine like the current USA Vinos. The new Vinos for 2006 will be 4 stroke, though.

Shawn get the abruzzi from VT cycles. pflugger honda in waipahu sells vinos i think. save money and get the abruzzi its got the same motor as the vino so you can make a 85+ mph rocket out of it if you wanted too.

Thanks rydah
I am also looking for a broken/used one where I can use it as a display near my sign. I might have to cut in in 1/2 or use it as a shell only but if you know of how I may get one please let me know.
Thanks again rydah! Your local info helps alot!

I have to cut the bike in 1/2 so I can mount it to the side of my building next to the sign. Kind of like a display/sign.
Hope that makes sense.
If you know of anyone with a broken or not running VINO or VINO clone please let me know. I just need the shell.
Thanks

Hi Rydah
I am in Market City the little coffee place on the corner across from Foodland. I sell coffee drinks, mochas, thais, lattes, caps etc. and also Bubble Drinks and Shave ice. Tried offering food, but with 7 other food places in my tiny stip mall I didnt move much. If the demand is there from scooter-ists then I will try and bringing some food in again. Maybe scooter food on the go! Soup in a cup, muffins and such.
Where do you live Rydah? Maybe we can meet up one day and talk scooters.

Hey do you think there could be a market here on Oahu that just sells Baskets, oil, batterys and spark plugs and stuff?(basic stuff not much performance) Or do you think all the money to be made in Mopeds are in performance only? Are the mopeds/scooters here more a "disposible"/Temp form of transportation for those not looking to fix them up/race them?
The reason I ask is that my friend told me if I have too many performance things alot of guys (highschool/gangs) will hang out and cause trouble, then I might lose my coffee customers.
Which is weird because many of my gas station friends who ride are really cool, but then I realize there is also others that arent as friendly.
What do you think? Can I get by selling Baskets, Oil, Tires, Batterys and stuff? Or is all the money to be made in Performace only on Oahu?
Thanks
Shawn C.
