gears help

i just was thinking when u switch it to a smaller gear there is a space in between were the larger gear attached to the clutch shaft because the new gear is smaller because of lower gearing. im i right or am i over thinking this also has anyone put 17:40 gears on their tritain and had problems like i have?

thats why primary gears come as pairs. If you only installed one of the 2 gears, then yeah they wouldnt match up correctly.

yah i have a 17:40 set and it doesnot fit so what do u recomend i do one of the gears work but the other smaller gears shaft doesnt

if both gears dont fit, then you have the wrong parts. dont use them.
