I just bought a 1997 Zuma II. It starts, although the electric start gave out on me...so kick started it with choke full and it's running! However it's February in Indiana and I would like to do proper maintenance while I wait on spring. Where do I begin? What should I check out? Thanx in advance and proud to be a member! sS

I'd clean out the carb, new spark plug, change the gear oil..

inflate tires to proper level...

top off injector oil...

empty gas tank, and refill with fresh gas.

Decarbonize cylinder head exhaust port and piston top. This will give you the chance to inspect cylider bore. You may use oven cleaner on head just dont leave on more than 10 minutes. Use a soft scraper on piston top. Depending on miles exhaust may need to be decarbonized also.

Something else overlooked on two stroke autos...built up crud/sand/grease. If on your cylinder head cooling fins....can really effect cooling.
