So i was riding down my street today. I usually get chased atleast once by some dog.So today one dog ran out but i was going pretty fast so i just flew by him, about 2 seconds later another one is running straight for me and i didnt want to hit him so i slowed down. he came up to me and started sniffing me and then bit my leg. His owner came outside and started yelling at the dog. He let go and ran home. I gave the owner the finger and drove off. I was so shocked that it really happened i didnt know what to say. I kinda laughed about it and went on my way.

You should have it looked at by a doctor, as dog bites can introduce all sorts of bacteria and stuff into your body... Next thing you know you have a nasty infection, or are seriously sick!

The other thing about animals is usually they can't and won't bother if you keep your speed... However if you stop, they get scared or are unsure what to do so they protect themself....

How often do you see car owners stop for a dog that is chasing them? NEVER! However a dog normally wouldn't go up and bite the car... It's BIG AND SCARY! On a motorcycle though, not so big not so scary!

As long as the animal won't cause a crash.... KEEP YOUR SPEED AND RIDE ON!

after you go to the doctor go back to the house with the bill and present it to the owner. I'm not an animal hater but if people can't control their pets then they shouldn't have them. They need to be held responsible. I look at that the same as if their little kid came out and hit me with a bat while I was riding. You must be a very patient person! Can you imagine if that dog latched onto your leg while you were moving...you would have crashed and then you would have doctor and scooter bills :(

At motorcycle safety class, they recommended (to folks with good low-end) that if a dog is chasing you, to slow way down until the dog is almost up on you, then gun it. This fools the animal into thinking you will keep going slow, and slows the dog down. Then, by the time you have sped away, the dog's still trying to comprehend what just happened. I have used this strategy very successfully, myself, with the stray animals that looooove my Vino.

Works good for elementary-schoolers, too. :D

instead of a smoke screen, we should put a mace screen on our scooters for those canines that get a little too ambitious :p

Set up cones on your street and go by them at 40+mph on your scoot, practice kicking them. It'll come in handy when you need to kick some dog in the face.
hahaha

LOL

I keep mace on my scoot these days. Just never know when some punk is going to get on my tail for not going 80 MPH in a 35 MPH zone and I slow to 25 MPH. Want to be ready in case my mouth gets me in trouble at a stop sign and I have to give him a little dusting.

What no shotgun rack??? What kinda shorebilly are ya, LOL :D Maryland states that everyone must own one shotgun! (Preferably a Remington 870!) Personally, I'd throw old crab pots off the back of the scooter at them if I could, ha ha!

For use on the roads, you can't get enough of a sawed off double barrel shotgun. mmmmm, buckshot.

Have you seen that movie Raising Arizona? This is a time when we need the Lone Biker of the Apocalypse :p
