REgistering a Scooter in Texas

Anyone register a scooter in Texas not bought from a dealer? How did you do it?

yup. Took bill of sale, then had to send it in to the dealer w/ an application to get a title. Once that was here I was able to register it, then insure it.

Was the bill of sale in your name or the previous owner's? I just bought a Zip R3i and the seller lost the title but does have the bill of sale.

It's an '04 with 1k miles on it, paid $400 for it -- deal or not?
