Need alittle help/advice. I am not an expert on 2 cycle engines.
I installed a 70cc kit on my 1986 Yama Jog. I am keeping the stock carb and stock exhast. It starts fine, and idles great. When applying power it is a little sluggish from 0 to 10 mph, then it starts to pull to 30 mph. It is a little sluggish from 30 to 40 mph. Infact It"craps out" at WOT. It's not as good as stock at WOT. I have reamed out the main jet from stock (82 I think) two sizes. I moved the e-clip down one. I think the needle operates fron 1/4 to 3/4 throttle and then the main jet takes over or does it work in conjunction with the needle and idle jet. The stock carb is in good condition. I fully cleaned it prior to installing it on this new 70cc kit.
I also installed a new dive belt. The rest of the trans is stock. I would have likes to installed a heavier spring on the rear. I think that would step-up the stall speed. The stock 50cc didn't seem to have any problems and pulled ok. I'm sure this scoot just needs some fine tuning.
Does anyone have any recommendations? I would appreciate any and all suggestions.
Respectfully submitted,
Andy
