So I'm sure there are people here who have replaced their turn signals for the chome Japanese-style blinking-bits - it's to these fine folks (or anyone else, really) that I pose my questions!

Rear-end questions:

1) If you changed out the rear signals, did you change the taillight as well?

2) If you did change the taillight, did it mount on easily? Did it come with all needed hardware? Did the license plate mount back up?

3) If you didn't change the taillight, what did you do with the old plastic turn signal stalk-things that were poking out the side? Did it leave a hole, and did you fill it somehow?

Front-end question:

4) Related to previous question, when you installed the new front turn signals what did you do with the big black plastic arm and, if you removed it, what did you do to get rid of the hole?

Thanks again for all your help!
Bart

Bart-- I am one of those fine folks.
I replaced both my rear & front tunr signals with the Japanese stryle winkers, but not the tail light.

I left the holes in the back alone as they aren't that conspicouous (at least to me) When I had my OEM Yamaha headlight, I filled the two holes with two little plastic circles I got from a Honda car dealer and painted them to match the color of my scooter--I think each piece was $2 or less, they were held togther by a rubber band inside the headlight cover. Later I purchased a Japanese style headlight cover w/o the holes in it. Others have used bottle caps from 32 oz. soda bottles & painted them to fill the holes in the headlight cover

The PO of my '05 Vino installed the turn signals and I installed a small tail light.

The plugs in the headlight housing I found at the hardware store. They are nickel plated and have tabs on the backside that can be bent to hold the plug in place.

The tail light fit fine but needed two connector positions swapped in the plug. The quality is not really up to Yamaha levels but it looks better than the stock monstrosity. Since I don't need a plate I don't use a bracket. All the left over holes I covered with those same nickel plugs and a reflector from the OEM light bracket. I looks OK, not as slick as I would like.
