i ordered a kevlar belt with my stage one, but it's on back order, apparently, so i kept the stock belt, which seemed to be in fine condition (despite the 4k miles on my bike) after 200 something miles with the stage one, while going 50+ mph home from work today, bam! loud metallic noise, and the wheels stopped going... got it home, opened it up, and the belt looked as if it was run through a food processor! erich, when are those kevlar belts coming in?!?!

This happened to me with a Polani Kevlar belt... See my pics under the Kevlar belt thread...
I unfortunately have been told it happens...
Not sure why but I have had my stock belt on since and had No problems with it... Exact same set up for a few hundred miles... Now with the primary gear change and the new CDI... still going good with the stock belt... Will get a new Kevlar when they come in though to see if it works better... Erich sells the Malossi brand... Not the Polani so I hope it lasts longer!

got the malossi belt the other day and it's runnin great... speed is better too. i'm not sure if it's the belt or the 4.5g rollers i put in at the same time (i had just slightly heavier ones in before) but now i can go around 45mph up some big hills that i could only previously go up at around 40...
