Well I think I've managed to make some time in my schedule tomorrow afternoon so I'm going to start installing my Airsal 70. A couple of quick questions:
1) Is 2-cycle oil as good an assembly lube as anything?
2) I think I read somewhere that I need to adjust the output of my oil injector but I can't seem to find the post. If so, how is it done?
3) Should I raise my jet needle (lower the clip) from the start or wait and see if it's lean in the mid-range first? I'm kinda concerned that the smallest jet I have may be too small based on what burnt-toast said about his setup :(.
4) Do most Triton owners remove any bodywork or just work from underneath?
5) Do I need to run dinosaur juice at first or can I start out with synthetic right away?
6) Is there way to prime the injector pump after reassembly? Erich's how-to says to pre-mix in case there's air in the line but it seems like if the pump is working too I'd be way oil-rich.
Thanks in advance scooter gurus :worship:

1) Yes.
2) When you have access to the oil pump cable adjuster unscrew it 1/2turn.
3) Yes. Use a 85 or so jet.
4) Take out the seat, that gives you perfect access.
5) Start out on synthetic.
6) Just run 1oz. of oil in the gas. There's no reason for the oil pump to loose its prime when swapping cylinder.

a small amount of oil in the gas might be okay... but not much...

2 stroke oil... Yes, that is what I use for installing the cylinders I have used... Just a thin coat on the cylinder and piston and your golden.

Thanks guys. Started taking things apart and decided to go ahead and do the carb while I had my hands on it. All I can say is you guys must have better eyes and steadier hands than me (good reason to quit drinking and smoking I guess). That needle clip seems microscopic! Got it moved to the bottom notch and I'm gonna start with and 82.5 main jet. Taking everything slow 'cause I haven't wrenched much in the last few years.

Pretty uneventful operation, flying circlip notwithstanding. (Needed to straighten up my shop anyway.) I'll let you guys know what jetting I end up with.
