yeah... oops didn't think to include that...
however it is awesome to see people trashing their stuff... Makes me feel as though I am safer as I am scared to pull much of a wheelie let alone the stuff these CRAZY people do!
Beware... if you like your scooter... don't try this... you will CRASH! and BTW... as king said (read above) this is so true! :)

What kind of stuff can you guys do on your scooter? Do cops trip over what you do? Who can do the longest wheelie on his scooter I think I will win this on my friends 50cc 2001 ZUMA. Any pictures of anyone doing stopies or wheelies? I want to see how good is evryone with their scooter.

longest wheelie on a stock 50cc is 692.feet 5inchs
im just now doing stopies, best trick on my scoot is riding backwords with my back on the bars, i also can wheelie like that for 3 feet before i have to hit the brake.
i have been cought speeding onb my ped 10times but no tickets ran6 times and got off with a warning 4 times, cought for wheelie and going over the speed limt 2x bolth warnings, going 55 in a 20 with out a helmet on 1x and ran. my elite is a beast off the line and take off road good as long as i keep it under 50. after that the font end bottems out.
i would have to recommend NOT running for cops. my friend got ran over he went to turn left and the cop hit him and he got hit by a car and now can not move his legs. i have 4 differnt color panels for mine so once i get cought i change panels lol.
i have never got a ticket yet i have been riding 1 year, every cop here knows me lol form doing crap on my ped.
im now cooling it down i dont want tickets and i dont want a history.
I would have to don't try this at home.

how close have yall ever had a Car or Truck Come close to side swipe you or 1 Feet from your Handle bars..
some guy actualy tapped me on the way to work one day.
i knocked his mirror right off his car, hope it startled him enough to look before changing lanes next time.
ive had that sort of thing happen alot, but riding my scooter is by far much more safe than riding my mountain bike on the side of the road.
we dont have sidewalks here, and the bike lane is anywhere from 1 to 2 feet wide, sometimes there is no bike lane, OR no place to ride off the road.
atleast with a scooter you have a bigger footprint, much more visible & audible.
plus you are going about the same speed as the traffic around you, getting tapped on the arm by a car going the same speed as you is much better than getting tagged in the side by a car going 40 mph faster than you are on your pedal bike or walking.

lol
i need to tone it down my self.
i have now got my 1st ticket i didn't run, i got it yesturday for doing a wheelie in a school zone. :( now i have to come up with a 123 bucks.
i didn't go aggest my driveLI, i found away to get around it by when i ride the scoot i use a state id.
if you ever get a ticket look to see if the put the make model, vin number, year, and color if they forget to get you in or the make or model the ticket is void. :D thanks to knowing that i have not got 4 ticket that i would hvae if he would have put the vin and make and model.
he just put black\gray motor scooter, and honda. thers a tip if you ever get cought over the speed limt

That's an old wive's tale. I've been to court enough times when I was on the force and have first hand seen judges laugh people out of the court room for that more times than the combined total of our memebrship! As long as the plate number on the citation is registered to the owner of the car, it does not matter what else is on the citation.

dont plate it llol my zuma is set up for racing and dose 78mph GPS and not plate.
the newer zuma dont have to have a plate even know they say you do.
only one person has a plate here on ther zuma and they have been ticketed for not having a Moto id,. the other 8 people get pulled over and is counted has a moped.

you former cop?
the cops here are not stricked heck on of them own a 2000 honda elite with a full stroker and huge and loud exhuast ( you can hear it over a harly going 80 lol) :D and still has it has a moped.
i was told as long as the title says 50 49.3 or what ever you dont have to plate it and can modify it as long as it is not to loud
the state cop aslo told me they are trying to do away with the 49cc 2.5 horse power law because kids are getting hit for going so slow!
and that they may up it to anything over 71cc has to have a moto id.
last year my good friend got ran over by a big rig and died. the reson was because he couldn't do 30mph and the rig was doing 35-40 and ran over him at night. couldn't slow down soon enuff and well he's 6ft under :( .
ther have been 8 moped\scooter involded crashs in the last year thanks to them going to slow.

No state in the US is going to change that, 50cc reg, if anything the states that do not have those laws are in the process of implementing the 50cc rule. And if anything due to the recent increases in the popularity, states are starting to crack down a lot harder, enforcing the laws harder and are looking to add laws and higher fine for traffic infractions. At this time, most states that have the 2.5bhp or similar laws pertaining to 50cc scooters prohibit them from traveling over 30mph in order to stay classed as a moped. As far as mods go to any stock 50cc scooter, Provo has this as a disclaimer because of such laws pertaining to derestricting and modifying 50cc scooters.
These mods may void your warranty and are not for the technically challenged. Provoscooter takes no responsibility for any undesired effects and or results that may come about in performing these modifications. With that said we have taken care to provide the most verbose (illustrations and text) available. These modifications are specifically for the Vino/Jog/Venice/LS, but may serve as a reference for many other scooters, with a minerelli horizontal motor. NOT FOR STREET USE. FOR RACE USE ONLY. ;-)

indiana is a wierd state
ther law they a have scooter and a moped law the moped law i guess is the one for 49cc 2.5 hp 25mph the scooter law is 50cc no horse power restriction and no speed restriction but you have to have a drivers id in order to have a scooter lol
thats new info to me. i just called the police department and thats what they said  , but DMV said ther is only moped law, in that case the only legal moped here is the honda metro 1 tops out a 25 and metro 2 at 20mph,
and the vino witch here only go 23mph.
i think my state needs to get ther laws right.
such as you have to have seat belt in cars at all times and you dont have to even have seat belts in a truck unless you are under 18.
a seat belt is a have to if you are the drive of a van but every one else dont have to where one unless under the age of 18

old wives tale....huh? I have gotten out of numerouse tickets due to errors.... it all depends how you present yourself to the judge. If you go into court saying theres an error let me go ... that will not work.
The way Ive done it is this........ you simply ask the judge about the competance of the officer, If he was tired and maybe on a long shift and incompetant at the time he wrote the ticket, then how can we depend on him reading the radar gun accuratly...... WORKS EVERY TIME!!!!:D
;)

i just go there show them the errors and protest that it could have been any moped\scooter they they saw because they didn't get the vin number and just worte it half

EVERY person I have ever seen challenge the system has lost.
To me the best way is to go in and accept your charges with an explination of guilt.
When you call the cop a lier most judges don't like it. If the cop wrote you for doing 60 in a 40 and you say he was tired and can't read correctly they- they meaning people in the system as in judges, cops and so on- take that as an insult and throw the book at you.
Glad others have gotten off and use what works but around here you challege the system, the system makes an example that it is the boss.

lol okay mom. lol you sound like my old mom.
tell the truth and it will set you free. i do tell the truth cops all most always screw up tickets of scooters.
just like if ther is a law agest motor mods on a scooter if they ticket you for it the MUST AT ALL TIMES LIST THE PARTS THAT ARE illegel and they most dont do that.

This thread is has about run it's course. Since this topic is revolving around some legal issues and the law in general I'm moving this over to the Law Forum as well. Feel free to start a second thread on the topic at a later date when folks had some time to chill.
