I want to participate too. I reside in Northern VA. (Available in the Weekends ):)

I have a new 2004 Vino unrestricted. I do not know what parts I need to purchase to make it a bit faster (At least to keep up with traffic, nothing fancy), any suggestions? Also when are we planning to get together? Do the needed parts have to be order via Internet, or we can purchase them locally? Price difference local shop versus Internet order? Any help will be appreciated.

I have not really found a place around here that I know of to order or install parts.

One of the reasons we were going to get together (hopefully) was to work on my 2004 Zuma with a GPS.

I am in the process of trying to find the "best" kit to put on my Zuma and going to order it online.

There is a place I found on Craigs list that is around here that works on them as well as a few in B-more. I just rather pay a backyard mechanic that really cares or at least pretends to give a crap if my scoot runs good.
When I get my kit and if we don't get together then I will go the other route at a shop. I also didn't get a good feeling when they said they would work on them but I would be the 1st one they ever did- don't want to be a test toy for them.

Most places I called would not touch Zumas because they have to pay for parts from Yamaha or whoever and not get a deal on them they said. I was like the parts I am getting are Polini or some thing which they stock for other bikes.

There are nothing wrong with getting the stage kits from http://www.Provoscooter.com/shop Erich is compairable in price and the parts are as quality as the other scooter shops sell... In fact mopedhospital sells the same kits... Most online places sell the airsal cylinder kits...

So, if you looking for a standard "upgrade" look at the provo (compair prices) and get one... The stage 2 kit (on a vino) is supposed to be able to hit 55mph-ish...

I have a zuma (slower) but the Torque on my stage 3 scooter is BAD ***! It pulls hard all the way to top end (of 48mph)...

Basically you need to upgrade the cylinder, exhaust, carb, variator, clutch (springs or new clutch), reed valves (not 100% required)... Look at my sig... each part adds a little for power and top end... :D

LOL-

Tools and I don't get along......

I am at a point in my life in my ripe old age I for the most part don't do anything I don't feel like doing.

I have no pleasure working on anything of any sorts- just not my cup of tea.

I don't do yard work, windows, work on scooters, wash my cars, groom the dog, eat leftovers, et up before the sun does or drive over 100 miles. Just a small list but for real- too much time for me doing some thing I don't like to do then I don't do it. Working on my scoot is one of them. I would LOVE to have members of this board do this get together to stage II my scoot up to the mid-50's or even 60 MPH and have it as close to bulletproof as we can make it. If that means overkill with a crankshaft or whatever then so be it. If that means all the booze and dinner is on me then so be it.

I'm with you guys! I don't do yard work. It pisses my old fart neighbors off because it brings down their "property values"!
I started the A.Y.C. in my town. AYC stands for anti-yardwork coalition.
We just drink beer.
I spray painted in big huge letters "SUCKS" on my lawnmower.
My wife is too embarrassed to use the "sucks lawnmower" so she uses our old school push mower.

i would be mad if some ( ) was lowering my property value.
i say keep up a perfect lawn and i try not to be to loud, so i shut my scoot off and night and push it home so i dont make any one mad.

nope... I agree with the nice lawn... I water mine all the time and mow it at least once a week... (summer time anyway) but no way in heck will I push a scooter that runs to my house!

I get home from work at 6am... and keep it running all the way to my garage door! Screw em... I hear them while sleeping during the day... so they can hear me during the morning when I get home!

Serves em right! HAHAHAHAHAHA! really though I don't see why I should push a perfectly good vehicle when it can be ridden all the way to my house! JMO again! :D
