Anyone know anything about the Venus scooter?

I was going to get a 2004 Yamaha Vino, but the seller is being flakey and backed out of the deal. I then saw the Venus scooters online for a lot less. It looks like it has the same body as the TN'G and the Vino (I think they use the same body). Anyway, I'm new to all of this and would just like to know if the Venus is a piece of crap or if it's good.

Thanks :)

Never heard of it. If you can get some stats on it that might be easier to determine if its good or not.

Javacycles and MotorsportsofAmerica have them, but I don't think I can post links to them (you can google them though). I know almost nothing about scooters, but am trying to learn. I'd wanted the vino so I could make it nice and fancy and pretty. :p

Anyone able to help me on this? No clue if it's good or bad. I've tried researching the brand, but I can't find squat on it.

Thanks in advance. :spiny:

If you cant find any info on them plan on it being broken within 9months.

I think the Venus is another rebadged Chinese made Geeley scooter, much like Big Chief, Jonway, etc.
If you buy one, you can be sure the online dealer who sells it won't provide any support or even be around in a year. If you want something less expensive than a Vino, buy a TNG Venice scooter--at least they have a good support and parts network.

Okay - thank you both so much. :)

I don't want to regret the decision in the long run, so I guess I'll just save up for a Vino since I love them so much.

Thanks again!

You might be able to sell the Venus to some other person as they might actually like it. Then use that money for a used Vino. The reason I say used, is that way you can still have a 2stroke engine instead of the new 4stroke Vino.

Also check your local craigslist or ebay, there have been some great deals on used Vinos, some in almost new condition. Even with a used Vino, you will be much better off than getting some nobrand scooter that you can't find parts for when it breaks down.

I have seen Venus scooters lumped in with Geelys so I think they are from the same source. I would stay away. They usually have inferior parts inside, no dealer support network, no parts availability, mechanics won't touch them, and they usually aren't approved by DOT or the EPA so it's impossible to get them licensed.
