I looked at a cheaper, but pehaps better, brand of two cycle oil on the interntet called AMS. For a fully synthetic oil they wanted $28.50 a gallon or $7 a quart. I found it at http://www.amsoil.com (http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/ait.aspx?zo=5931)

This seemed like a pretty good deal since the Yamaha dealer sells their semi- synthetic oil at a slightly higer price. AMS says it's good for Yamaha cycles. Also, the fully synthetic oil will make the engine last longer, right?

Thanks.

Amsoil is a great oil... also www.provoscooter.com sells 2 stroke oil...

amsoil is what I use in my cars, and scooter... as well as the weedwacker, snow blower, etc...

I'll look at the provoscooter oil. I'd rather support the supporter of the forum if I could.

Get the absolute best, most expensive oil...a 50cc needs it...a hopped up 50/70cc needs it more!

Your oil usage is sooo minimal that a $12/qt. oil [ Motul 600, for example ] will not add even a penny a mile...

You'r right about oil use being minimal, Larry. I think I use a uart of oil for about every 500 miles.

I use Klotz R50 premix. Good stuff. Coats all surfaces very nicely. No deposits on the head. No ring sticking.

I went to a site that sells Klotz R50 online. Do independent motorcyle shops carry this stuff or do you buy it online too.
