Hey, just want to say that I have been lurking here for a few months and thought I would finally sign up and try to contribute.

I have a 2003 Zuma that I have had for a year and a half now. I mostly use it for driving back and forth to work (only a few miles). The annoying this is I have to take the backroads with lots of stop signs and such because this thing won't go fast enough for me to be comfortable on busier streets.

My questions is this: Will a stage I kit be enough to make my Zuma fast (mostly just quick) enough to take it into more traffic. The speed limit is 40 (so traffic is at about 45 usually) and I would need some decent acceleration if I was to be stopped at a stoplight. I don't want to but a big bore as of yet because I don't have a motorcycle endorsement and I would need one.

I am about 265# and elevation is about 1000 feet give or take 200 or so.

Thanks

Stage 1 would do it, i weigh in at 210# and it will take me to 46mph very quickly. The one thing that i will say is that you might want to go with the 19mm carb, otherwise at 1000ft above sea level you will have to rejet based on my installation. :)

I am thinking I will try the stage one, I can always buy the carb serperately afterwards.

Does anyone run sythetic oil in these things? It would be nice if I could run the same stuff that I put in my snowmobile (Amsoil). Any thoughts?

Thanks.

It's been from 48-52 in the morning, and with the proper gear, commutes are no problem...

#1 item...a wind shell. (Old Navy, $19 ) then, a clear bubble for the helmet. Next, if necessary, a thin balaclava under the helmet. Gloves, of course.

Regular dungies have been o.k. so far...will put a pair of nylon wind pants over them when the time comes.

I plan on scooting till icy roads, or snow.

Its not the cold as much as my dad wanting to get it out of the garage while I'm at college. But I guess he just decided to wasn't going to re-up the lease on the storage spot so back I will go to take it out of storage in a couple of weeks.
