Okay... so Erich finally recieved his shipment of gears from Malossi USA... I recieved them from him today and had to jump in head first...
So I started tearing into it...
Got everything out... and BTW... let the final drive oil drain for a while and open the fill hole.... I ended up cleaning most of it out of the belt area... oops!
Anyway, It wasn't overly difficult... I do recommend having the new gears pressed into place... One of the gears the piece that you thread the nut onto that holds the clutch in place... This one I actually got off and installed the new piece with a hammer and vise grips... However I started to strip the nut... and will eventually replace it for strenght reasons...
The other one goes onto a little shaft that you can't see until you open the sealed case... I couldn't budge the thing.... Tried for a few minutes then took it to the hobby shop (on base) and had them press it in and out for me... There was NO WAY IN HELL I'd have been able to do it at home without mode serious tools...
So if you are planning on getting them, make sure you have some sort of access to a press... Or your wasting time and money... Installing this added about 7 or 8 MPH to my top end... I feel no difference in acceleration, supposedly your supposed to have slower acceleration.... But I guess with all the other mods I have... I can't tell...
Worth the money... but almost impossible as a do it yourself unless you have access to the tools...
Also all parts that need pressed come out of the scooter so it's easy to bring them to get them changed over for you... So there is no large parts that need to be brought in...
