How much oil on air filter?

My scooter was not running right so I finally got around to taking off the air filter and ringing some of the oil out. My question is how much oil should be on the air filter?

enought to get it moist... then squeeze it to get any extra out of it... and let it dry over night... then run it...

I'm sure some will say it's okay to run right away... but K&N experence and just my mind thinking... and I'd rather let it gum up...

Thanks Jered. Hopefully this will solve my issues with it bogging down at stop lights and stuff. Should I clean the old stuff out first, and if so what should I use to clean it with. After I clean it what kind of oil do I put on it?

a degreasing soap... dish soap should work fine... just make sure to get it all out...

if you have a K&N soap it works better...


oil... I use 2 stroke oil...
