Okay, I have noticed this trend of mostly 200ish pound guuys riding scooters...
I weigh around 195 pounds and am 5'10"... Doesn't this seam to be what the average scooter person is now?
Some 100 pound females but they aren't they aren't the type to post here...
Just seams odd... I thought I'd be out of place as a almost 200 pound guy but guess not....

Oh, I just a GP1300R. No idea what it tops out at. DNR is pretty mean about blowing through the main channel in the bay on them during crabbing season. I don't blame them. I'm going to try to drop traps next year off the back of it, and see how many crabs I can do with three pots.

i'm 5'11 and weigh 190lbs... i ride double with my girfriend/other passengers all the time, not to mention constantly carry 50 lbs of groceries or whatever on the back/under the seat/hanging from the seat on all sides/between my legs/ on my arms/all at once/etc.... and so far, despite the warning labels on the vino (NEVER CARRY A PASSENGER!) have had no problem, except a couple mph reduced speed with a passenger... that's it though, 6200 miles and going...

5'11" , 210 . It's funny, i was actually a little worried when i bought the vino that i was so much over the recommended weight...silly me. It could handle much more than, me, though the shocks could benefit from me going on the atkins.

Spanky a simple and easy way to a smoother ride on the Vino is to replace the stock shock with this one from Provo Scooter. Also upgrading the tires makes a world of difference, too. The stock Cheng Shin tires on the Vino are sooo hard. I have done both and the Vino no longer bottoms out on speed bumps and riding up some driveways.

Hiya Susan,
I'm about to order a MultiVar from Provo and am thinking of ordering the shock too. Did you notice a big difference in the ride? I weight 130 lbs and my ride seems ok, but I have no basis of comparison at this time, so I thought I'd ask you since your weight is probably closer to mine than the guy's is. I do know I'll need to weld extensions on my stand if I do go with the new shock since I've got the S1's too.
TAI,
Erika

5' 6" and 145lbs. When my Zuma was stock, almost 45mph. Just wondering what speed did you hit before any mods. wondering if weight affects the top speed any, and how much. I know it affects the pick-up, and when traveling on hills.
smokin
02-20-2005, 10:24 AM
Weight does affect the topspeed because the motor does not have enough power to move the added weight to the speed. Although when you are only talking a couple pounds you will not SEE any difference.

I'm not "stickly" at all really, I'm kind of big. Before I started working out I was about the same, like 5'11 and 160 lbs. I've lost a lot of fat and gained a lot of muscle.

I am 5'10" 268lbs in the morning...I am shocked how well my 04 Zuma carts my big body around. I can go close to 45 down hills...40 on level ground, and about 35 up hills. I have no mods so far. I just bought it two days ago ($1995.00 out the door) as a left over 04. Its my first scooter and I bought it because my car broke down and it was going to cost more to fix then it would have cost to buy the scooter. Being that we are going into summer here I thought I can save a ton of money driving this to work (4-5 miles each way). So I will save for a down payment and buy a truck this fall.

see the thing is lennox...before i got this purple scoot, i had a 100 bike ,motor and frame. honda spree frame which was streched out and had the dio motor on it i had the malossi cylinder on it,and everything else hooked up such as,carb, vair, belt, manifold, reeds, clutch, but i had a r1 pipe which is a tourque pipe, and had the wrong year gears in my tranny, and i was driving next smokin and a friend..the one who i posted his red/black hayabusa on my scooter garage, they were in a f150 truck which was going 60 mph on the dot and i came by them and cut over three lanes, so i cant say 65 because i wasnt going that fast i know atleast 60 because they were going 60 and i beat them, now i have the same setup on the purple bike with a LONG PG pipe which is one of the best high performance pipe for top speed...and i also have the bike tuned alot better.i am trying to find a cheap spedometer that would work on mine but just cant find one. I keep looking around for one of thoes police stand up speed radars that tell you how fast your going and when you hit over the speed limit it flashes red.
