Has anyone tried out the U-lock from Yamaha? Is it really worth the $39.95? Does anyone know if it has the circular-lock weakness like the Kryptonite lock issue? It looks like it's maybe just big enough to go through the rear wheel.

for $40 get a snake lock by master lock and lock both wheels to the frame.

A dealer just let me know that those locks still have the non-tamper-proof circular keys, so that answers that.

BTW: the ones I refered to are about $15.00 or so, I got mine at fred meyers.... It fold up easy and includes about a 6-8' length or cable that fits into a python shaped (head) lock. and is adjustable, pretty cool lock IMO

The circular locks are the problem. You can open them witha ball point pen. It might just be the kryptonite ones though. I wouldn't take the delers word for it.

pdxjim,
I have a Kryptonite New York MC lock, w/ their NY chain as my daily lock-up system. For home I have 7' of the 5/8" triple hardened Corbon anti-theft chain & 2 Krypto locks & a Master Corbon hardened lock.
(overkill? maybe, but these things fly away in Portland--too bad LoJack isn't available here.)
