Thought I'd say hi to all, and introduce myself...
My name's Erin, I live in the Seattle area of Washington, and I've got an '04 Red Vino Classic. No mods (yet) aside from de-restriction, as Sheila (the scooter) has just been restored after having been stolen then recovered with some damage.

I'm looking for suggestions on how to carry my morning cup of coffee, and how to stay (mostly) dry while riding. I'm going to get the face shield for my helmet, to avoid those large raindrops which really hurt. I'm considering a regular old rain poncho, but I'm not sure if it would flap around too much.

Also, is there anyone here who has painted their own helmets? I'm looking to add some flair to my ping-pong ball helmet, so I'm looking for some reflective paint that will stick to it. Suggestions there?

flames for the front of the helmet and on the back it should say "Bad to the Bone" although mine still says DOT :D

Yeh, I was gonna go for some flames... Possibly instead of "bad to the bone" it would be "Faster, *****cat"

Yeah, this DOT person seems real popular, got her name on all the helmets around here... :D

" I'm looking for suggestions on how to carry my morning cup of coffee"

Check out my garage and click on some of the photos to enlarge. I installed a metal bottle cage--it will hold a cup of coffee. If you have a 3/4 or 1/2 helmet you can sip your drink when you are at stop lights (sometimes I forget I have my face shield on and try to take a drink-----duh)

Welcome to the forum!

That's a great idea, with the bottle holder. I had initially thought of installing a longer screw to the upper right corner of the legshield, where the turn signal is mounted, and install a cupholder with that, but I was kinda iffy on the measurements, if a cup would impede turning (gotta have room in case I need a Mondo Mocha that morning)

Erin-
one idea-you can buy red or yellow reflective tape at a hardware store and decorate your helmet with that--
For the cup holder, I just got a longer screw for the one in the middle of the leg shield, sawed off the top part of the bottle cage and screwed it in. The cage did scratch part of the paint, when I realized that, I got some stick on felt at a craft store and attached it to the back of the bottle cage--I think stick on foam would provide better protection.
Post pix of your scooter when you get a chance.:)

Flame Decals (http://www.carstickers.com/) I used these guys for my mono flames on my Vino.

Susan- I posted a pic of me n' Sheila on the profile. I will more after I get more work done. Waitin for the weekend.

Larry- Was thinkin' a sticker or two, and King Vino posted an awesome site for those... (BTW thanks :))

A custom plate frame and a seat cover, like the one that Susan's got are also on the shoppin list. This might end up being an expensive hobby, with all the cool stuff to do. I'm now glad I work in the automotive biz...
