I purchased a new 2004 Zuma a few weeks back and I have a question concerning oil consumption. When I asked the dude at the dealer about purchasing some oil he said "I've been driving my Zuma for two years and have never put any oil in it." How much oil do these babies burn? I took off the oil cap and, to be honest, I can't tell if the resevoir is full or not..should it be filled to the very top? The oil light doesn't come on while I'm riding and the scooter runs awesome.. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I asked my dealer the exact same thing and was told fill it when the light comes on.. I wasn't happy with that answer and pulled the right side cover off and sure as could be there was plenty of oil in there... the tank is over a quart...
You should get a good 5-700 or miles on a tank of oil...
However I prefer to use full synthetic and drained my DINO oil the day I got ahold of some synthetic...
Costs more but it's better for the engine.... Yes this is my preference... some say use dino oil... but the numbers and studies show otherwise...

440 miles on my 04 Zuma so far..
It was full when I bought it and am driving it with a small bottle of oil under the seat for when the light comes on.
Let you know when it does so we will know how far we can go.

I add a little just about every day. Of course I probably ride more than most. I get out for a few hours every day weather permitting. I keep the oil level down about 1 inch from top.

like I said... the tank is HUGE! mine had the light flickering when I last added oil... It took over a quart...
So don't plan on having to add more before a good 500 miles...

Again, thanks for all the info. The low oil consumption is just another reason this scooter is AWESOME! Man oh man.
